Where is Edzo. I figured he would be here celebrating Vuc getting back to form. Not seeing this one today, how did Motta play?

I only got to see the second half and on a terribly choppy stream so I couldn't really judge. I thought the whole team looked all right in the second half and Motta wasn't under much pressure but stood up well on a couple of occasions when his man tried to run at him; the really conspicuous thing about right back for me today was that Cicinho had an excellent 15 minutes when he came on for Motta. He looked pretty sharp - got forward, made no mistakes defensively, attacked a header with uncharacteristic gusto, made a nice, tidy interception, and distributed the ball from right to left twice very well. I remember Capello talking about that goal that Taddei scored against Real Madrid and picking out the ball from Cicinho across the field in the build up to the cross from the left that Taddei got on the end of. I hope Cicinho gets another chance with us. Certainly if Ranieri plays Burdisso at right back when he's got Motta, Cicinho, and Cassetti all available I'll go over with a cheesegrater and tinker with the man's nuts.

Why not Cicinho where Taddei plays, right ahead of Motta?

I think Cicinho likes to have things unfolding in front of him. As a right winger he'd have to pick the ball up with his back to goal more and he'd get the ball in much tighter spaces. I think he's much more comfortable when he's able to look up and has space to run into.

I read an interview with Cicinho last season and he said exactly what maro wrote: he likes to have plenty of space in front of him to move into so he prefers to as a right back rather than as a wide midfielder.

Well, to be fair, I was just quoting what he said to me in an email last week only I didn't want to brag. He also told me that Rosella's a top chick and is making enormous sacrifices for the good of the club.

Thanks Tom. Haven't read up about the match yet but it doesn't surprise me to see he said those words. Thats the kind of professional Mirko is, but of course, away from the microphones he will be absolutely delighted to finally scored in the league, I'm sure. Good timing for us, too, with the week we have coming. Don't suppose anyone found a link to the full match yet?
