Sorry, sp. I wasn't trying to 'wet the occasion'. It's a great result for you guys and another marker of your CL pedigree. You guys have pulled two huge results out of your asses this week and should be enjoying them. I was just responding, really, to edzo's comment about a friend who said you only had four shots on goal and scored from three of them. I didn't see the game and so have no idea of how it unfolded - and who cares, in the end, anyway. I was just thinking that a Real-fan or an anti-Milan fan might be able to claim that those two goals came from nothing and weren't exactly the stuff of irresistible attacking team-play.
besides the result, the team did play like shit over the course of 90 mins. passes werent reaching their target, and stupid decisions were being made on the ball.
but as they say, winners make their own luck and thats what happened in the end. although the fact that we won should not cover the dozens of mistakes that were made during the game, i hope leonardo has the balls to realize this and show heat where it is rightly due.
Beckham deal agreed, claim Milan – 14:01 GMT, Monday, 26 October 2009
David Beckham will definitely rejoin AC Milan on loan in January, according to the Italian club's chief executive Adriano Galliani. Beckham, 34, is keen to play for Milan to maximise his chances of making the England squad for the 2010 World Cup. Galliani told Italy's Sky TV: "It's 100% certain. The only thing missing is the signatures, the agreement is done."
The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder had a loan spell at Milan last season, during the Major League Soccer off-season. He joined Milan on an initial three-month deal in January that was extended to the end of the season.
Beckham was a big success in Serie A and negotiations have been under way to repeat the arrangement. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player said the deal was "95% done" after appearing for England as a substitute during their 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Belarus on 15 October, adding: "I don't see why it isn't going to happen. I always wanted to go back."
AC Milan join the race for Ajax striker Luis Suarez – 28/10/2009
AC Milan are the latest major club to express an interest in Ajax’s free-scoring striker Luis Suarez. Technical director Adriano Galliani admitted that the Rossoneri "lack creative attackers, we only have Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho with these qualities."
On Suarez, Galliani admitted "we have tracked him for some time. We hope he will be the new Marco van Basten."
Galliani also admitted that AC Milan hope to secure a deal for CSKA Moscow midfielder Milos Krasic in the January transfer window. "We have already spoken once, it is now time for contacts to intensify."
Besides Suarez (20 goals and five assists in 16 matches this season) and Krasic (nine goals and six assists in 26 games), Milan are also tracking Santos playmaker Paolo Henrique Lima.
we score two goals in the first five minutes of the game only to allow two in injury time of the second half? unfuckingbelievable. who gets the blame here?
first of all for not taking abate off. he was getting torn apart on the right, and eventually picked up a second yellow. and i actually think kaladze had a decent game, some of his passes out of the back were fucking amazing. 40 yard pinpoint passes down the left which stay low on the ground, kaladze brought the ball out of our half brilliantly. and i also think thiago is getting worse, he wasn't marking denis yesterday on the equalizing goal, and nesta saved his ass in that 1v1 vs. chievo. so far these are just brain farts, but it all stems back from that piss-poor back pass to menez in the game vs. roma.
our new formation of the 4-2-3-1 is giving other teams orgasms with the space afforded to them on the flanks, and we seem to be doing a capello-esque defend with 6 and attack with 4 philosophy. pato should also try take his man on a lot more, like when he created that half chance for borriello after taking on napoli's left back. he needs bursts of speed rather than cutting inside every time, its way too predictable.
but yesterday the biggest mistake was keeping abate on. that kid needs to watch his head, he blows up for no f'ing reason at all. and ambrosini gives up some of the stupidest freekicks ever, i suppose his great sense of positioning is why leonardo keeps him in the lineup over flamini, but ffs he needs to cut the fouls less than 30 yards from goal.
Kaká joined Real Madrid during the summer after six successful seasons at Milan. Photograph: Dani Cardona/Reuters Real Madrid forward Kaká is hoping to receive a warm welcome when he returns to San Siro to face former club Milan tomorrow.
The Brazilian joined Real for £56m in the summer having spent six years in Milan during which time he helped the club win several honours, including the Champions League in 2007.
"For what I have achieved in the years I spent there, I expect a warm welcome from the Rossoneri fans," said Kaká on his return to Italy.
Seedorf: AC Milan are starting to find rhythm – Updated: November 2, 2009, 10:31 AM UK
AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf believes his team-mates are finally beginning to find their rhythm as they prepare to face Real Madrid for the second time in the Champions League this season. The Rossoneri had won just one of five games before facing Madrid last month, when they came from a goal down to claim victory at the Bernabeu, but Leonardo's men have found some form ever since. They have taken seven points from a possible nine in Serie A, including Saturday's 2-0 triumph over Parma which lifted them to fourth in the standings.
''Little by little, the team is showing its true colours,'' said Seedorf. ''We are happy, although we know the road is long. ''But the positive thing is that I see the team is starting to have confidence in its own ability and that is something which satisfies me.''
The Rossoneri know Madrid will be eager to avenge last month's 3-2 defeat. The result left the teams level on six points at the top of Group C after three games.
''I don't need to prepare my players for these type of games,'' Leonardo said. ''What we hope is to maintain the same high level as we have displayed in recent matches.''
History suggests the Italian giants have reason to be optimistic as they have won all five games against Madrid at the San Siro and conceded just one goal. The good news for the hosts is that Alessandro Nesta has recovered from a muscle injury that kept him out of Saturday's game against Parma and will be available to face the Spaniards.
Alexandre Pato, who scored twice in the first meeting between the two, is set to lead Milan's attack alongside Filippo Inzaghi and Ronaldinho.
Madrid also head into the match with renewed confidence after going some way towards redeeming themselves for last week's humiliating Copa del Rey defeat to lowly Alcorcon. They enjoyed a stirring derby victory over Getafe on Saturday, where they recovered from the early dismissal of defender Raul Albiol to claim a 2-0 win.
Madrid had plenty of heroes in that match but it was striker Gonzalo Higuain who stood out, netting both his side's goals and only narrowly missing out on a sensational 12-minute hat-trick after seeing another shot strike the post.
The Argentinian could hardly have picked a better time to produce such a performance, with both Madrid and coach Manuel Pellegrini under intense pressure following three defeats in five games. But the 21-year-old dismissed any suggestion he is the team's ''saviour''.
''I had the fortune to score two goals, but the team played a great match and we won thanks to the effort of everyone,'' he said in Marca. ''I'm not the saviour. I don't like that. I'm very happy because you don't score two goals every day, but I'm not the saviour at all. The merit goes to the team.''
Saturday's match was only Higuain's fourth start of the season in all competitions, partly due to injury, but Madrid fans are eager to see the former River Plate hitman keep his place in the side for tomorrow's game with Milan.
When asked if he would be disappointed to be back on the bench at the San Siro, Higuain said: ''I'm calm, it's not something I'm obsessing about. Obviously I want to play, because it's a special game, but the coach is the one who makes the decisions.
''I always want to play, but at Madrid there are many players and we are all ready to play.''
Coach Pellegrini, who received a vote of confidence from club president Florentino Perez yesterday, named a 20-man squad for the trip to Italy with Cristiano Ronaldo and Ezequiel Garay injured, and Guti and Christoph Metzelder omitted.
