It was great the way Philippe raced to celebrate with Ludovic too. Good stuff. One thing I will say for these giallorossi, whatever strengths and weaknesses emerge over the next 45 minutes - for the past 135 minutes they've made two pretty capable sides look pretty ordinary. I don't mean that we've dominated Fiorentina or anything, simply that for one of the in-form teams playing at home they've hardly been able to dictate terms and impose their style on the match. Prandelli clearly has them all so worried about nullifying our strengths that it's taken away their game. It is no little compliment that the Viola played the first half just a little bit scared.

Fiorentina is a good team and they will only get better as long as they avoid injuries. I don't know why we do not have the fortitude to bury teams when the opportunity is right there in front of us. It seems we are too busy making pretty passes but forget that the object of the exercise is to put the ball into the back of the net.

Lets say for the sake of argument that we find a way to win on Saturday. What would the assessment of the team be over this brutal 3 game stretch in the league given our committments in Europe? 5 points from 9 over a week.

A loss Saturday would leave me to conclude that we failed at the first real test of our abilities. Roma da Scudetto? Io penserei di no.
