Since the days when Pietro-Paolo Virdis used to strut his stuff and Ruud Gullit replaced Ray Wilkins at the San Siro, I've enjoyed watching Milan's big European nights. As an Italian, how could I not. As one of my fellow Romanisti recently said, some things are above club rivalry!

However, I was almost resigned to thinking Milan had been mugged, between Dida's horrendous concentration loss and the referee's shocking decision on Milan's disallowed goal. Not that your rossoneri didn't ride their luck too with Zambrotta's arm to ball penalty incident and Raul being adjudged offside when he thought he'd scored.

For all Pirlo's volley was a lovely strike and deserved to be a goal, it took us all by surprise, not just Casillas! I expected Pato to show his worth and he did, big time! I was disappointed that Pippo didn't score and not just because I lost a bet on it. Just when I thought big Clarence was having an off-night with those two blasts over the bar, he more than made up for them with the beautifulcucchiaio assist to Pato for the winner. What can we say about Dida? One step forward and two back...all the good work of every decent stop he makes is ruined by gaffe after gaffe!

I seldom have the chance to watch more than highlights and a full Milan game is welcome in letting me see how they are progressing. Does anyone agree with me that a more consistent team effort rather than relying on individuals like Pirlo, Pato, Inzaghi, Seedorf etc would produce more?

I'm still none the wiser on Leo though. I've been of the opinion he isn't ready for a club like Milan though it's just possible he will make it given time but that's a somewhat unaffordable luxury at top level!

I didn't care for those Spanish tortillas in El Santiago BernabÃƒÂ©u chanting "Milan, Milan, vaffanculo" but I guess that's just football.

The Derby of Europe is ours and our first victory ever in Madrid!

We are shit with or without this game but what the hell, we beat the Evil today, lets enjoy a rare moment of glory in a shit year...I dont hate Kaka and all but now he's against us so fuck him, so fucking sweet to beat him and his merda team

borriello coming in changed the game, gave the central defenders a lot more to think about eventually creating space for pato and ronaldinho. borriello is always gonna be a messy SOB, but he'll rough up the backline and thats all that is need of him.

It was a good experiment, though, wasn't it? On one side we have a carefree president who spends as much money as possible on 34 attacking players while on the other we have a careless president who sells and stinges as much money as possible, and look who wins. Perhaps Berlusconi was right all along? Or perhaps it was a one off....? Someone in work told me Milan only had four shots on goal the entire game and they scored from three of those.

nah we had more than 4 shots, we scored 3, pato had one saved with cassillas' legs, seedorf and Pirlo had a shot but blazed it over, Thiago's header that didnt count. but either way Forza Milan, i knew it was gonna be a special night, it did look like Kaka was playing on 40%, passing the ball when he would have shot normally, i wonder of he was upset inside when we beat them or if he was really as happy as we were? i think its fair to say Ricky loves us more than he does The pot 2 club hes playing for now...

we had 4 shots on target, 5 more that went wide, and 2 that were blocked. madrid still had way more shots. this excludes our disallowed goal.

we had some great passing movement after our second goal. once real tied, everything was thrown to hell and pato just kept burning real down the right.

as tec said, it won't be long before those criminals in white come knocking on our door for pato...

You can tell Ricky is Milanista still, he was handing out more hugs than passes last night, he never shot when normally he would have ran through and shot/scored, and when he did shoot the shots were softer than some of his passes!

From last night on Sky Italia Kaka gave an Interview he said

“I am only disappointed Pato did so well tonight against my team!” grinned Kaka on Sky Italia television.

an then Oddo said

"KakÃƒÂ ? Probabilmente stasera ha pensato perchÃƒÂ© non sono rimasto a Milan?”

Which if my Italian is correct says something along the lines of
Kaka? he probably thinks why didnt i stay at Milan?
