Italians get stadium go ahead

Yesterday the Italian senate gave the 'ok' to a bill in support of Italy's bid to host Euro 2016, making it easier for clubs to fund new privately owned stadiums.

The bill has still to get through the Chamber's Culture Commission, but La Gazzetta dello Sport understands it will become law within a year.

Inter have been quick to take advantage of the news.

On Monday Inter director Ernesto Paolillo unveiled the Nerazzurri's plans for a new stadium to the President of Credito Sportivo, an institution specialising in grant funding related to sport.

With the new law, Italian clubs will be able to get loans at very favourable rates for new grounds. The state is also ready to make Ã‚Â£18m available in funding.

Inter have already found a site for a new stadium just 1.5km from San Siro along Via Novara.

The model for their ground will be Bayern's Munich's Allianz Arena.

A number Italian clubs are in the process of either developing or building a new stadium.

Juventus and Fiorentina are the furthest along while Roma recently unveiled their plans for a move away from the Stadio Olimpico.

I'm looking forward at us having our new stadium, but I dont know how this will effect our transfer policies in the next few years. We all know that we usually pay on transfers much more than we income on sales. This year was different because of Ibra, but there is only one Ibra to sell... I guess next year will be Maicon's year to leave. We want to reach that famous Platini's benchmark by 2012, and I see it extremely hard to be able to build a stadium, recover the 150+ million deficit and buy players only from the club's income... I'm curious to see what comes out of this mess.

Allianz Arena is a great stadium. It would be wonderful if we had a stadium like that.

For the team, we need to get rid of the junk first. Vieria, Mancini, getting players like that off the book will save us a lot in terms of salary and hopefully Roberto Mancini gets a job somewhere rather than living on Moratti's 6m. If this is done next year alone we will save 5.5 + 3 + 6 = 14.5m.

Coutinho can't wait for Inter

Brazilian starlet Philippe Coutinho is counting down the days until his transfer to Italian champions Inter next summer.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder signed for the Nerazzurri in 2008, but they chose to leave him in Brazil and let him develop at club side Vasco da Gama for another two years.

Brazilian law also prevented Coutinho from joining Inter at an earlier stage.

Lol tbh MI I haven't seen a single A-League game since last years final. I struggle to sit down and watch this sort of football but congrats anyway!

Is Coutinho arriving in Jan like Pato and Silva did with Milan or end of the season?

Milito apparently is recovering quicker than first thought and could be ready for the Dynamo home game.

Lol dejan, sure the A-League doesn't have a high standard yet, but it's local football to support. I want it to grow here as much as possible. Whether it be going to the home matches or watching them on FOX, the FFA get my support

Not sure about Coutinho, but he is carving up @ the U17s.

It's all about Inter to decide whether they want Coutinho to join in January or june. He will be 18 in january, so he can come.
