Italian football should tighten their asses for the time being. They have to fight for that spot this year, but I believe English & Spanish sides will be hit hard by Platini's latest regulations of not allowing any club to participate in European competition until they have settled their balance deficits. I had already talked about this some time ago, but Italian squads are currently head & shoulders above any EPL or LIGA side with regards to book balances. Real Madrid & Barca have above 500 million Euros deficit each. Same goes for Chelsea, Liverfekkin'wankscum & Man U(Man U have about 900M euros deficit pending). From the Italians, Inter are the worst case scenario with about 140m debt. With the new regulations, only the club's profits will have to make good for such deficits...no more Billionaire owners or banks. This will hit everyone hard, but moreso Spanish & English sides who have to somehow recover 500+ million from club's profits alone. I expect in the next few years to see a dramattic levelling down in the CL between the current strong sides and the others. This will also mean a much more lacklustre transfer window even for us, especially considering that we have yet to finance a new stadium...

Vieira issues Inter quit threat

Patrick Vieira has revealed his frustration at becoming a bit-part player at Inter Milan and threatened to quit the San Siro if he is not given more playing time by boss Jose Mourinho. Vieira has been at the San Siro since 2006 but has found himself a bit part player of late behind Dejan Stankovic, Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti and Sulley Muntari in the pecking order.

The former Arsenal star was left out of the France squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers yesterday and, with South Africa 2010 just around the corner, the 33-year-old has revealed he could seek a move in January.

"If nothing changes then yes (I will leave),'' Vieira told L'Equipe. "I need rhythm, a run of matches at a high level. I don't want to make any conclusions before December. "If my situation hasn't changed from now until then, I will take the necessary decisions. "If I don't play a lot more it could be problematic.''

Hey Lomba, what's going on with Oriali? I did not realize it before reading an article that he is not on the bench nowadays alongside Mourinho.

Are we at odds with him or has he changed role?

Not too sure, altough I had heard something reassuring about the reason why he is not on the bench lately...which I now forgot. However, latest rumours are saying that he + Mancini (Roberto) should be heading towards Napoli instead of Donadoni & Marino.
