Dopo i gol segnati da Mirko Vucinic con il suo Montenegro, e da John Arne Riise con la Norvegia, e dopo la prova "mondiale" di Daniele De Rossi con gli azzurri, anche Julio Baptista torna dalla settimana nazionale con una rete in più nel suo score personale. L'ex Real Madrid si è reso protagonista ieri di una buona prestazione che fa ben sperare per il suo recupero anche nella Roma. Il Brasile (già qualificato ai prossimi mondiali) ha sconfitto il Cile per 4-2, in un incontro giocato a viso aperto e su alti ritmi da entrambe. As Roma: Italpetroli a rischio svalutazione

In attesa che Rosella Sensi e Mediobanca tirino fuori un coniglio dal cilindro per uscire dall'impasse, Unicredit valuta la svalutazione della propria partecipazione del 49% in Compagnia Italpetroli, la holding che custodisce tra l'altro la maggioranza della As Roma.

So what's our thoughts on the Siena game the weekend? What formation will Stopgap deploy? I'd be amazed if its anything other than a 4-4-2, and a fairly defensive one at that. Burdisso may move to right-full, and expect the likes of Taddei, Perrotta and even Brighi to play on the wings. We do have more natural options there like Menez on the left or Cerci on the right but I suspect they aren't defensive enough for Stopgap and it would take a miracle to see them there. How he lines them out upfront will also be interesting. Totti is in, you would imagine (though I might be tempted to drop him, gasp), and Vucinic is back to full fitness after playing 90 minutes for Montenegro last night, likewise Baptista is also in contention after a good performance from Brazil. And Stopgap does like a powerful centre-forward to hoof the ball up to and he does see Whooolio as filling that role. Menez is also on good form for us and would be disappointed to be dropped so he is in the mix too. I suppose these are all good problems for the coach to decide upon.

Yes the translation is from Goal.com so i wasn't taking every word as Gospel from De Rossi's mouth. He did say Rome is a "peculiar city", but would I be right in thinking he didn't say "I didn’t like the way it (fans) behaved towards him (Spalletti)". What does he say after that, then, what is 'capro espiatorio'?

I don't believe too much or feel concerned too much with this supposed "dualismo" with Totti over who is the fans favourite or real leader on the pitch. Its nothing personal between them, i feel, but rather born from how it seems De Rossi is a more natural leader of men on the pitch wheras Totti is the symbol and bandiera off it, and the conflicting nature of those two roles. Nothing big to worry about.

I found this somewhere else Edzo and he did say it but again, he is referring to the city, certainly fans, and in my opinion, mostly the press. Remember, Spalletti took a real beating in the press after the rubentus match. But the body of the article at Roma news did not include this statement. So, perhaps I would go with the more negative interpretation here now given this statement. He was being critical no doubt. He is also providing some cover for the bitch.
