Yeah...i do not know what is hidden behind this first "rejection" from Ranieri but as we all guess, our management must have offered shit conditions, probably forcing Ranieri to work with Spalletti staff. The reason? ...Save money!!! We are so pathetic. I do not know how I can manage to love this team anymore while the bitch remains at the helm.

The deal is done, or so it would seem. Perhaps the wrangling was over a 1+1 or a straight 2-year deal.

Between the Juventus game and now after today's news I'm too numb to say much except to echo the thoughts of most of us in thanking Luciano Spalletti for all he has done for us and to wish him all the very best in the future. He wanted to part from Roma on good terms and the manner in which he did assures him of that...not that Rosella could have afforded, as we well know, to compensate him!

But I'm a practical man with down to earth thoughts and I'm certainly not blind to Italian ways of working. We all know Il mister complained on Sunday of players not following his instructions, and of the rumours he'd lost the locker room so after a miserable mercato this must have been the final straw...but he wouldn't have taken this action if he wasn't pretty damn sure of getting the Zenit St Petersburg gig and Brighi who we know wants away has wasted no time in saying he will follow. He too wouldn't say that unless his trust in Spalletti was complete. We will know in January!

To continue on that track...Totti and De Rossi have made themselves clear on their loyalty to la Sensi and it may be they considered a change of coach rather than ownership is what was needed. By ignoring Spalletti's orders, the issue was forced! Steve, I didn't miss yours and I think aba's remarks on a player protest except you guys meant it should be against the management...not the coach. Well you may just have got your wish but for different reasons!

Maybe it will come out in the wash in the future when there is finally a new owner in place. We may also learn of at least some of the truths behind what is preventing that course of action...

Collapsed at the last minute, indeed, edge - that was just a smoke-screen to make it look like Rosella and Prade' were actually trying to get something done. I'm saddened rather than relieved, stefano. My sentiments are the same as glad's, I think. Ranieri's probably a safe pair of hands but I'm very sad to have seen spags's time with us unravel like this.
