Wesle Sneijder arriverà a Milano nel pomeriggio. Inter e giocatore hanno trovato l'accordo. L'olandee dovrebbe percepire poco più di 4 milioni di euro per i prossimi cinque anni. Domani visite mediche poi Sneijder dovrebbe aggregarsi al gruppo per il primo contatto con la sua nuova squadra.

Sneijder rejects Inter again!

Wesley Sneijder’s move to Inter looks to be off again after the Dutchman changed his mind! According to the latest reports, he is determined to stay in Madrid.

Newspapers in Spain and Italy had suggested Sneijder was ready for the £13m transfer and already en route to Milan for the contract signing this evening.

However, late this afternoon Marca announced that the 25-year-old had changed his mind again and was staying put.

This theory was backed by a message that appeared on his official website today, after he was dropped for the friendly against Rosenborg.

“I still think that Real Madrid is the world's best club to play for, although they might want to be rid of me,â€

One thing Zanetti can offer is more defensive solidity especially with two roaming defenders in Lucio and Maicon. On the other hand, he is not great going forward and provide the width that is so essential in the diamond formation.

Hiwever, against Bari we could have started with Zanetti in place of Muntari with Santon as LB. Zanetti being a natural right sided player unlike Muntari could have also provided the width rather than being too central and close to Vieria.

Latest reports in Spain say that Sneijder had a meeting with the Real hierarchy today where he has convinced them and is going to stay put in Madrid.

Even I keep beleiving that Sneijder in the end will come to Inter. The plan B really doesnt attract me one bit....Baptista....

I think Baptista would be quite a lot better than nothing for you guys - I certainly don't think he'd give you a shot at winning the CL, but he'll get forward and get you goals from that position and would be much more comfortable for you there than any of the guys you have at the moment. I think he'd add a fair bit in Serie A; in Europe is a quite different matter - it's hard to think of a trequartista more unlike Deco, for instance, who I gather was probably Moaninho's first-choice all along.

If we buy him now, then he'd take up a spot for a player we could purchase next season or maybe even January. The price I've seen thrown around is 9 mil and we could get VdV for that amount. If it's a free loan without an option to buy then that's OK but still a very, very disappointing effort from the management who spent an eternity signing Arnautovic while the position we needed filling the most was left till 2 weeks before the season started.

I still can't believe that fucker Hleb; I saw him play for Stuttgart vs Dortmund last week and he still looks the goods and clearly a class above anyone else in a team that looks average at best. What a stupid choice football wise..

As a trequartista and one who's already had a season in Italy, I suspect he might be a better addition than VdV, Cajun. And if you were to loan him, he wouldn't get in the way of whatever plans you might have for next season. You have to remember that Hleb saw the way Moaninho's sides played in England - football-wise perhaps he made a very good choice.

What I actually cant believe is that we've wasted so much time for players who have preferred to make heart choices rather than professional ones. Hleb decided to have a move to the club he loves, whereas Sneijder might possibly go to Atl. Madrid as long as he remains where his new girlfriend is. Professional players indeed....
IMO Baptista should be the last of our options, but for some reason we always have to buy a Roma player, which in turn will most probably end up more frequently injured than available. With regards to technical abilities...sure he has strength, speed and can score goals(especially those much needed long range goals) ...but last I checked we were looking for someone capable of feeding Eto'o & Milito and I really doubt Baptista is the man for that. Sure he's better than nothing, but he should really be our last resort..
Today I've also heard about an interest in Riquelme. Now now, he is as slow as a snail, but boy he can give this team some much needed through passes along with the ability of controlling the tempo of our midfield. I dont know if he's available for free, but if not he'd still be cheap. Why not Baptista + Riquelme and end up spending less than what we were offering for Sneijder?
