Doni's out for at least another month, I should say, dibdib. And the last report on such things suggested, as the Avvocato has, that Juan and Vucinic are being lined up for Rubentus rather than Genoa. Perrotta started training again yesterday but I'm sure he and Cicinho would be sold were offers to come in.

The problem with Baptista, edzo, is that he's told Spags expressly that he doesn't fancy playing as a striker and Spags seems to have decided this season that he wants to go with two through the middle. And if one of those is Totti, then the other one just has to make runs in behind which Baptista virtually never does. If Baptista could play as a prima punta then it'd be different, but unless Spags decides to retrench to the 4-2-3-1 then I think Baptista's surplus to requirements. That's also why, I think, you could see Perrotta also ending up going - there are going to be only two central midfield spots to be filled this season and DDR, Pizza, Brighi (or Perrotta, equally), is about as much depth as Rosella's prepared to pay to cover. From six (DDR, Pizza, Aquilani, Brighi, Perrotta, Baptista) to four central midfielders (DDR, Pizza, Brighi, Faty?!?, Perrotta?).

ughh.. I can't beleive we didnt just recall curci... a strong start especially with a team like ours is imperative. Seeing how things unfolded... I for one would have been prepared to make the change this summer.. bring curci back, relegate doni on the bench unless he really performs such that he cant be ignored. I don't like Arthur... at all.. my fondest memory of him was him convincing cicinho to come to Roma.

I think Doni convinced Cici to come, dibdib. Artur was in Siena at the time, I think. To be honest, on the basis of today's performance I should say Artur's unlikely to cost us too many points in the first month of the season - credit for that will be given to others. Actually, I think I could probably be persuaded to cut the boys a bit of slack. I thought they were careless today, but then you'd expect Kosice to play out of their skins against us - it would hardly take much to motivate their players, presumably. And so long as the boys get the job done over the two legs then I suppose one shouldn't really question their professionalism. Don't get me wrong - I was pissed off with some of the stuff they did today - their leggerezza and superficialita' going forward and their laziness in keeping their defensive shape - but if Kosice come to Rome and win that game, then that's the performance which really ought to be cause for upset.

I don't think it's linked to Spalletti, Giacomo. Keep in mind we had a pretty different squad under Capello. We had smart players during that time. It's just that the current bunch are complete dumbasses. This almost makes me miss a player like Emerson. Almost.
