There's an interesting piece on romanews somewhere about the selling to buy thing - suggesting that we're going to sell Aquilani for 20 and Menez for 10 in order to free up funds to move for Negredo for 10. In short, 'we' can't keep the squad as it is because we're selling in order to sell or in order to pay a wage or two.

I've got to say, though, that I think Fabregas alongside DDR would be the best midfield in the world for the next 10 years (my love for all things Xavi and Iniesta notwithstanding) so I wouldn't be totally upset to see them in the same side. Now it's just a question of getting together the 7 or 8 mil it'd require (just going on the basis of this (http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/ ... 92,00.html) and the relative merits of the two players).

Ieri c'è stato un contatto indiretto tra Rosella Sensi e Florentino Perez per Alvaro Negredo, l'attaccante del Real Madrid rientrato dal prestito all'Almeria. Nonostante le smentite di rito di ieri dell'agente del giocatore, Michele Capasso, e del mediatore Ernesto Bronzetti, è confermato l'interessamento della Roma. L'affare può concretizzarsi nelle prossime settimane. Bisogna aspettare. Per il mercato giallorosso l'estate sarà lunghissima.

Is this what you were referring to Deini? I personally do not know how we do this deal without selling an Aquilani, Mexes or Juan. Moreover, I presume that in order to make room for this kid Stefano Okaka will be loaned out yet again.

Negredo would be a fantastic addition. Man, I'd so love to see us take a punt on this Real Madrid kid rather than giving Okaka a chance. Okay, okay, Negredo's record with Almeria is infinitely better than anything Stefano's mustered but I think the point still stands.
