Carlo, I think we all share your diffidence. Most summers are tough for Romanisti; this, I should imagine, will prove to be an especially tough one. Still, it looks as though the wheels are in motion for a Via Franco Sensi; a pity Aquilani, Vooch, and Menez are all likely not to be around to see it unveiled.

Oh, and Rosella's pleased the splitting off of Serie A and Serie B has gone smoothly. Presumably she's watching that especially closely because she can see us targetting the Serie B title within a year or two.

I can't add much to your interesting snippet, the Via Franco Sensi, a deserved tribute to the Old Man...except to suggest it's a safe enough bet it's the only Sensi Street la nostra principessa will never see in Testaccio!

In fact, if Gio in particular has his wish then all she'll get is a visit from this gentleman on a dark night!

I notice Mediaset did a piece on Totti thanking la principessa today for having the belief in him to extend his contract for 5 more years in stark contrast to the typical Totti humour of yesterday which had him suggest it was a 10 year agreement from her as a gesture of her continuing "sisterly" love!

are the latest alternatives to Cruz, again according to Mediaset, should we lose Vučinić. As I've already said, I'd have preferred to see us keep Vuci and add el jardinero to boost our squad even if he is pushing 35 but it's too much to hope for, I guess, that our new triade could show some business acumen! He and Vuci could work well in tandem because our gallant Capitan' sure won't be fit for every game...

Bendtner is another Voronin scenario. If he's so good then why do Arsenal want rid in a deal involving Vuci? Wagner Love is at least consistent in maintaining our club's Brazilian connection. Trouble is, all too often he couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel...

But...I fear you're right about at least one of either Vučinić, Menez or Aquilani going up in smoke as far as our roster is concerned!

Quite apart from our own poor youth policy, for Italy's sake in general the FIGC really needs to lower the 18 years old minimum age for a full professional contract to 17 like in England!

That lad whose name I couldn't get will have his full contract in a few months if all goes according to plan.

Spags had better play bloody Andreolli alongside Mexes tonight rather than Riise as various sites seem to be threatening. Surely it's an opportunity to give Andreolli a taste of what he's going to get if he settles down and tries his luck as third-choice CB for the season?

I was about to say just that Tommasino, having just looked at . Starting Riise (or Tonetto, even, with the Ginger One moving to left-full) over Andreolli is surely a big kick in the teeth to the young man and goes against all of which Spalletti has been saying recently about giving youth a chance. This is an ideal game to give Marco a run out alongside Mexes and show his worth, and you would imagine he would be in relatively good physical condition having a good few games at the Under-21 Euro's under his belt.

And lets brace ourselves for Aquilani's departure. Aside from what the usual sources are quoting about the 'scum making an offer, it now looks like Alonso is off to Madrid after he official handed in a transfer request, and it is reported there is only a few million difference in Madrid's offer and Liverfekkin'wankscum's asking price. As I have said before, however, that still doesn't necessarily mean Alberto is gone, as the 'scum have other targets and may not meet our asking price etc., but with our willingness to sell and having already told the player he will be leaving it doesn't look good and soon we may well see our own Romanista Alberto Aquilani posing with a Liverfekkin'wankscum jersey in front of the Kop, and the world will end.

There's a piece over on romanews suggesting that Cruz is leaning towards accepting Lazio's offer. Let's hope the fecker does. It's not that I don't agree with those who suggest he could offer us a fair bit; it's just that if he wants to come to Roma he should do it on his fekkin' knees rather than weighing up his options. He's not good enough not to be leaping at the chance.

You know its a sad day when Rome's two big clubs are fighting over one of Inter's discarded shits to be our big summer signing. Cruz is in a no win situation if you ask me. Whichever Rome club he chooses he's going to be the victim of abuse from both sets of fans: a) because the tifosi of the team who don't sign him are going to slag the fuck out of him because he's shite, and b) because the tifosi of the team who do sign him are going to slag the fuck out of him because he's shite. Yep, a no win situation, all he gets is Ã¢â€šÂ¬2m-a-year to be shite. But thank feck it won't be us payin him.

Aquilani edging closer to Liverfekkin'wankscum. Anyone spot the Gates of Hell opening yet? Have no fear because apparently we're going to do a Real Madrid on Real Madrid and sign Huntelaar and Robben to close them again.
