So, whats holding us up now?

Is Lucio the kind of defender we were looking for? I know he is a solid CB,good and air and pretty good going forward but is he in the mold Mourinho wanted?

@ Deini, I guess his official partner will be Samuel, but there is also Cordoba & Chivu.

@ Shield, he is not official with regards to Inter, but its official that Bayern ended his contract. First Bayern has to end his contract, than Lucio will have to come to Milan & do the physical, after which he'd have to sign the contract. Only after that will it be official. You know, he might suffer from teeth problems......

If I was trainer and looking for a new CB I rather want Lucio instead of Carvalho but I guess it's personal preference. If they got him on free the deal is even better. Don't know which team could hijack the move, maybe Madrid or Chelsea if they are still looking for a enw CB.

Inter and Barcelona have agreed a deal for Belarus midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb and he will join the Italians on a one-year loan with the option to make the move permanent next year.

Sky Sport Italia claim negotiations between Massimo Moratti and Barcelona chief Joan Laporta have been progressing throughout the morning where both men reached an accord.

Hleb recently bemoaned his lack of playing time at Camp Nou, leading to speculation he would leave.

Italian reports seem indubitable, claiming Jose Mourinho has now got his man after missing out on him last year. Hleb was close to the Nerazzurri back then, but he signed for the European Champions in a Ã¢â€šÂ¬13million deal.

He is now expected to join the Nerazzurri imminently with voices claiming an official announcement from the Italians will follow. Having captured Lucio from Bayern Munich, Mourinho is set to complete his double haul as the squad begins to take shape.

The move for Hleb appears to have gathered pace amid the transfer of Maxwell to Barcelona.

Hleb kind of just blasted Guardiola. Add this to the fact that we got only 5m for Maxwell I think something would be brewing with Hleb.

On the other hand, it could be a chain of really unrelated events

I thought Moratti told Ibra is going to stay at Inter for sure. What has changed now?Why are we talking about this swap deal again.

MILAN - Massimo Moratti spoke briefly to Sky Sport Italia after this Thursday evening's meeting with Barcelona president and the Catalan club's sporting director Txiki Beguiristain.

This is what the Inter president had to say:

President, is it true?
"At the end of last season when the championship ended, I and Laporta said we would meet soon. I wasn't expecting to see him this evening, but he was passing through Milan. We concluded negotiations for Maxwell and I'm pleased he's going to play for a great club like Barcelona because he's an excellent player. Now we are trying to conclude for Hleb, and we obviously talked about other things because for them it was interesting to know something about Ibrahimovic. We also spoke about Eto'o to understand if it's possible to do a deal with these two players. But this meeting was something between two presidents to understand if there are other possibilities to work together."

What are the possibilities of Zlatan Ibrahimovic going to play for Barcelona?
"There's no need for percentages. I think it's to do with the desire of the player and the rapport that exists between myself and Laporta. We will see."

Eto'o to Inter. A possibility?
"If an operation of this kind was carried out, it would regard both players."

Will there be another meeting with Laporta?
"Maybe we will meet halfway. No meetings have been arranged."
