Jose Mourinho has admitted Inter are not good enough to challenge the giants of Europe yet and denied he can work magic like Harry Potter.

Mou's squad too big

During the first press conference of pre-season training Jose Mourinho revealed Inter need to reduce the size of their squad.

The team currently has 34 players, way above the limit set by the Portuguese tactician – who has several times underlined his wish to have no more than 23 members.

Quaresma getting a second chance is good but not so sure about Suazo. Is Vieira one of those players who won't leave? I thought he was close to Lyon and since it's a world cup year, he'd want to play so he can get into the squad. In the end, I'm pretty sure Mou will get his AM and CB.

Chelsea are planning a sensational swoop for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to The News of the World.

Apparently, the Blues are ready to offer €70 million plus Ricardo Carvalho and Deco, the Portuguese pair in whom the Nerazzurri have expressed interest.

Ibrahimovic is well aware of the London club's interest, saying, "I am fully aware that Chelsea want to sign me and, of course, it is very flattering.

"They are one of the biggest teams in Europe and the Premiershit is one of the best leagues in the world."

If the deal goes through, it will more than double Chelsea's record transfer fee, when they paid €34m for Andriy Shevchenko.

Chelsea would also have to match Ibrahimovic's current wages of around €12m per year, but the Swedish striker insisted that a potential move was not about money.

"Money is not the most important thing," he continued. "I will base my decision on what's good for me, what suits me.

"It is about asking: will I still be able to be special in the league that I am going to, the team I am going to? Are my qualities right for the Premiershit or not?"

Moratti just said Ibra is no longer on the market so I think it's too late to do any sort of deal for this season at least.

The only thing I wish would stop is Moratti saying we can win the CL; what good does that do for a team? If Mou is working a psychological angle on the team or is fucking around with the media, what purpose does Moratti have to open his trap? Just let the man do his thing since Mou has alot of CL credentials while Moratti has zero.

Inter striker Victor Obinna, who spent a majority of the season on the bench in 2008-09, looks set to move to Napoli in the near future, according to Nerazzurri director Marco Branca.

"There is enthusiasm from the player," he noted in an interview with tuttomercatoweb.

"Napoli have expressed a willingness for a permanent transfer, while we only want a co-ownership deal."

However, Branca suggested that a deal was close to being completed, with just a few details to be ironed out.

"There is still the official announcement lacking, but given the excellent relationship between the two clubs it cannot be excluded that a deal will take place tonight or tomorrow."

Therefore, it seems that the young forward is likely to be joining the Partenopei, it only remains to be seen in what capacity - whether it be a full transfer or on a co-ownership basis.

At least it's one more player off the team but like you guys said, if we got the 7 mil for him, that would probably be half of the deal for Carvalho and Deco so it's a missed opportunity. Sunderland and Tottenham are linked with Vieira now and those EPL clubs always have some good money on them so let's hope the fucker moves on. I didn't realise it but there's only about 5 weeks till the season starts so Branca needs to hurry the fuck up and get the last two players for the team since there's not much time left. That means the Super Coppa shouldn't be too far away right?

I don’t understand why we have to go after both players. Carvalho is valued around 7-9M. So why don’t we go in only for Carvalho instead of insisting for both players? If I did understand Mourinho’s programmes for this season, Carvalho will be a much more important player for this team than Deco will. He will help us start our offence from the backline and also help our defence play some 10m closer to our midfield. I would go for Carvalho independantly from what we do about Deco.

The Italian Super Cup is on the 8th August Dejan.
