Inter Have Not Called Sampdoria For Antonio Cassano - Giuseppe Marotta

Sampdoria have revealed Cassano is not for sale, and they have not received an offer for him from Inter...

Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano will not be leaving the club as far as chief executive Giuseppe Marotta is concerned.

A number of voices around the Italian media have linked the Bari-born man with an exit. Inter have been tipped to make a move for Cassano, who has already begun his pre-season training a week before everyone else. However, there is no chance he will be leaving this year as Marotta sheds more light on the striker's future.

"Cassano will be with us 100 percent next season," Marotta told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

"Offers for him? Responding to these questions is never easy. We have not had any offers for him from Inter and we are happy that he stays with us.

"Antonio has already started working for next season and this is good for us and everyone else."

Marotta has confirmed that the club are interested in Lazio midfielder Luciano Zauri who spent last season on loan with Fiorentina.

"He is a great player with good qualities. He would be good for us and we have already made contact with him," concluded the Sampdoria chief.

That article was before Twente rejected the loan bid. There's no way around it; we'll be signing another forward in this transfer window because we can't rely on 4 players for 3 positions.

Juve have too many attackers to look at Cassano atm.

If he leaves, I would expect Juve to go for Pandev or Rossi.

I don't mind Mancini staying for one more season to see if he can change his form around but Suazo is a definite no for me. He's basically beyond useless and was a mistake signing him in the first place. He can't play on the wing and he's not the type of player we need upfront so he doesn't really fit anywhere. Ibra, Balotelli and Milito will start every game when fit imo but having only Quaresma and Mancini as backups and then expect Arna to fit in if he does come in the winter is not what a team aiming for the CL should be doing. We should sell/loan Mancini and buy Cassano and then you move closer to Barca, Real and the other CL favourites.

Just picture one scenario; Zlatan is out for any particular game. How far will we get with Balotelli, Milito and Suazo/Quaresma/Mancini up front? Tbh that looks almost laughable. In the end I don't think we'll get Cassano but it will be a big mistake.

"Yesterday we have reached an agreement with Inter's managers: Marko will go to Milan to be cured for 4-5 weeks," he said, "but he won't leave for America with [Jose] Mourinho's team and in August we will evaluate the situation. He will remain our player, however. This means that if Inter won't buy him, he will return to us and we'll be happy about that because he's a great striker.

I suppose it's a good solution although I wouldn't want to be stuck looking for a replacement if this falls through after a month..

Real Madrid Will Come For Inter's Maicon - Agent

The defender's agent has dropped another big hint of Real Madrid's interest in his charge...

Maicon has been strongly linked with a move away from the San Siro, Chelsea and Real Madrid both being mooted as interested parties.

Speculation concerning an impeding exit by Maicon has intensified after Inter refused to grant the Brazilian an improved contract.

Real Madrid are currently busy in the transfer market, trying to sign Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich and Liverfekkin'wankscum's Xabi Alonso, but Maicon's representative believes Florentino Perez will come knocking for his charge once the dust settles.

"For the moment there is nothing, but in my opinion the situation is destined to change," Antonio Caliendo told Corriere dello Sport.

"After signing [Karim] Benzema, now Real are focused on Ribery and Xabi Alonso, but I think they will return for Maicon afterwards."

Caliendo is confident Real are interested in Maicon, whom he considers to be the best right-back in the business.

He added: "I have said it before and I will repeat it: I hope for an approach from them [Real Madrid] to try to sign him because he is the best in the world in his position.

"If Real Madrid return for the player, this time the offer will arrive. And if the fee is adequate, then it could all be settled soon.

"I think Maicon would be the icing on top of Real Madrid's cake."

There's your squad to challenge for the CL and continue dominating the Serie A. All we need now is Madrid to bid..

Inter President Massimo Moratti believes his side is strong enough without Chelsea's Ricardo Carvalho and Deco.

Inter have been scared off the two Portuguese players, as Chelsea want nearly £14m for them. La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that if Inter just want one of the two they will have to pay £10m.
