Guys, I'm inclined to take the cautious approach along with da Tuna-Man...though of course it's as Tom says, difficult not to get a little excited. Many others like Pauly are just plain grateful to see an end to the days of poverty...

With luck, bargain basement shopping in future will only apply in the genuine case of a too good to miss situation!

So what do we have here? A Ã¢â€šÂ¬200mil buy-in with Ã¢â€šÂ¬40mil per year for three years to be spent on players? Well, that puts us pretty damn near Juventus level though still way short of Milan and Inter. We ain't rich yet...but hell, isn't it a nice feeling to know we can keep the players we want and only lose those we don't!

My concern is of course that our new found wealth is spent wisely. Even accomplished businessmen like Fioranelli and Flick will at very least start off by relying on the expertise of our new Triade, PradÃƒÂ¨-Conti-Spalletti, to act on football matters.

I have the same hesitance as Gio, having also been around for a long time. We have had money in the past but have always lacked that somone with the foresight to aim higher, that someone with the know-how to reach the next level, to take us from the "big fish in a small pond" status and put us amongst those who have really arrived...

So let's hope!

Some will never be happy though. If we have somebody with the cash and the foresight, etc. to achieve great things, they will complain that we have sold out and become "English." As long as the new owners keep the Roma culture Roman and keep the Conti's and Totti's and DDR's and Zampa's close to the club and respect and embrace the tifosi, I will by happy if they can operate the club like a well-run, successful business.

Can somebody please be a little more precise than this...

As I understand it, Vinicio Fioranelli is Italian-Swiss, a major name amongst football players' agents who is heading up the consortium which has bought our club. I can find no personal info on him.

On the other hand, as regards his backers, Gert Rudolph Flick ("Muck Flick") and Friedrich Christian Flick ("Mick Flick"), there is plenty. I personally wish to confine myself to only the Roma related activities of the Brothers Flick. I would nonetheless suggest anyone who isn't aware of their background, ought to be. We can be assured, in time to come it will be commented upon by our opposition.
