Brazilian star Kaka left Milan for Real Madrid for €67.2 million on Monday and Selecao boss Carlos Dunga believes the decision to part with the 27-year-old might come back to haunt the Diavoli, although he has tipped Hernanes as a man that could soften the blow of losing the former Ballon d'Or holder.

Milan close in on Edin Dzeko

In a week that started traumatically for Milan with the sale of their best player, Leonardo's men could be set to end it on a far brighter note. According to Sky Sports Italia, the Bosnian hitman has signed a pre-agreement which will give the Italians first option on Dzeko, who has also been chased by Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City.
What remains now, is for Milan to persuade the German champions to part with a man who was integral to their maiden title success. The pre-contract is based on an eventual agreement between Milan and Wolfsburg, who still maintain he is not for sale. Dzeko's will to join Milan however, appears to be putting pressure on the Germans.
Milan will meet with Wolfsburg directors next week, where it is expected they will strike a deal that will go some way to appeasing their fans after selling Kaka. Whereas Milan are hesitant to pay anymore than €20 million for Dzeko, Wolfsburg are holding out for closer to €30 million. Whether the Italians will raise the stakes remains to be seen.
