if true, this is absolutely ridiculous. this 'request' would either force moratti's hand in dealing him (perfectly executed strategy by his agent) or reaffirm just how much of a sackless doormat moratti by conceding to these kind of demands while still under contract as THE HIGHEST PAID PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE. what kind of message and ugly precedent for other players on the team?

City's Elano says he's keen to sign for Inter Milan

Manchester City midfielder Elano admits he is open to a move to Serie A champions Inter Milan and claims talks have already begun. The Brazilian, who was signed by former City boss Sven Goran Eriksson from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2007, was in and out of Mark Hughes' team last term and has revealed his wish is for a move to San Siro.

"There is an opened negotiation," he told Gazetta dello Sport. "I like Inter a lot. Sure, I'm bounded with a contract with Manchester City, but I hope Nerazzurri officials won't stop facing to this - I would like to wear the Inter jersey."

The 27-year-old, who netted five Premiershit goals last season, has also revealed his admiration for Inter boss Jose Mourinho and hopes that his compatriots within the club can help swing the deal.

"He's great [Mourinho]. His sides have always left a sign. And all the players who have played with him consider him a phenomenon," said Elano.

"Inter have a big coach but also many great champions. I hope my friend Julio Cesar could spend a word in my favour."

guys - an italian radio station, retesport, just mentioned that there was a confirmed sighting of moratti in barcelona this afternoon, along with ibrahimovic’s agent, entering the football club’s headquarters. looks like the negotiations are underway.

I may sound crazy but I am somewhat relieved and happy that negotiations are proceeding. There is no use in keeping Ibra when he doesn't want to stay put. We can buy good players with the 30-40m we get + Eto'o.

Serie A could be about to lose another huge name, as Moratti is engrossed in negotiations with Laporta to sell the Swedish superstar...

Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the past month.

The recent comments of both the agent and player himself have prompted the Italian press to speculate that Ibrahimovic is no longer content at the San Siro and a move to the Camp Nou could be on the cards.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti is currently in Barcelona to negotiate the sale of his star striker to the Blaugrana.

The Swedish international was an influential figure in Inter's Scudetto victory and top scorer in Serie A this season with 25 goals to his name.

Any move for the former Ajax star would likely involve a substantial amount of money and possibly Samuel Eto'o moving in the other direction to the San Siro.

In fact, according to tuttomercatoweb, the meeting between Moratti and Barcelona officials is taking place at the Hotel Majestic, where the agent of Eto'o is also present.

The Corriere dello Sport adds that the deal has received the blessing of Jose Mourinho and Inter will receive approximately €30 million plus the Cameroon international. The negotiations will continue into the night, but a successful resolution is expected.

A promising Ibra-Eto’o swap deal looks as though it is about to fall through...

News of Massimo Moratti’s appearance in Catalunya on Thursday evening sparked wild speculation that the Inter chief was about to begin negotiations to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Barcelona.

The Nerazzurri supremo reportedly had dinner with Blaugrana president, Joan Laporta in a restaurant and the Spanish press was there at the end of the meeting to push the two chiefs for some answers. But neither were too keen to divulge any information.

AS quoted Laporta as saying, “It was a dinner between friends. Nothing has been decided. This meeting took place because we have known each other for years and we share the same admiration.â€
