Barcelona To Offer Inter €60m For Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Report

Ibrahimovic has been linked with a mega-move to Barcelona once again...

Barcelona are trying to celebrate their historic treble trophy haul by spending big this summer, and they will try to land Inter star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Blaugrana are drawing up a plan worth €60 million in an attempt to persuade Inter to part company with their man. The report suggests Barcelona president Joan Laporta has two ways of convincing Massimo Moratti to give up the Sweden star.

The first will be offering a swap plus cash deal. It will consist of sending Samuel Eto'o to the San Siro and adding a further €20m into Moratti's account. This is an option which could convince the Nerazzurri as Eto'o has been in hot form this term, helping his side lift the European Cup - a trophy that Inter have been craving for over 40 years.

The second option would be a straight cash in hand deal. The Spanish side would offer the Italians a mega €60m for the striker, hoping Moratti will accept the money. However, the sum is quite far off what the Inter president wants. He has always said 'Ibra' would not be sold for less the €100m.

Should Inter accept any bid, the next move would be trying to satisfy the player. Barcelona are looking to offer Ibrahimovic €7.5m per year over five seasons. The sum is shy of his €12m a year deal at the San Siro, however, the Spaniards would top up his wages by giving him sponsorship and image rights, taking his earnings to €14m a year.

Despite this, Ibrahimovic has maintained he wants to stay at Inter for the time being.

did you guys notice ibrahimovic standing in the back line not celebrating with his teammates at the trophy presentation? the body language and declarations about "having done everything in italy already" is a pretty strong indication that he'll be moving on.

i'm sure you can retool the team quite nicely with the money he yields in an eventual transaction but there is no one on the planet that can replace the kind of skill set he has.

If he leaves I want the transfer to be done within the next month so that we have time to plan the future and buy the right players with the money. It would be suicidal to let him go 10 days before the transfer window closes as the replacements like villa,augero and benzema would have long been picked up by another club.

Mourinho Vows Inter Will Be Dangerous In The Champions League
'The Special One' admits the team needs to improve and is requesting two more incoming transfers...

The Serie A season has just finished with Inter claiming the title, but coach Jose Mourinho is already thinking about the next campaign and the Nerazzurri's quest to conquer Europe, claiming they will have a better showing in the Champions League in 2009-10.

"I can bet now that we will not be finished by the second round of the Champions League. We are certainly better than that," he told the press, according to Goal.com Italia.

"The quality of our game must improve. The reality is that without Maicon we find it hard to build from the back, which is the basis for a 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield or straight line."

The Milanese giants have already brought in Genoa duo Diego Milito and Thiago Motta, but the ex-Chelsea boss has revealed he'd like to bring in another two players to complete the squad.

"We need two more. We won all the same, but by mid-season we realised we were at the end of a cycle. I am sorry that some of the champions are leaving [the squad], but changes are necessary," he mused.

"With [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Mario] Balotelli and Milito we can play with multiple systems and they do have the features necessary to deliver their best in a trident."
