Chelsea's Deco: I Have Started Negotiations With Inter

Chelsea's Deco has confessed that he has entered into negotiations with Serie A giants Inter with view to a transfer during the close-season.

The 31-year-old only moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona for €9.1 million (£8m) last summer.

But after making a good start to his career with the west London outfit, scoring in the first two games of the season, the midfielder suffered a dip in form and subsequently made just 22 starts throughout the 2008-09 campaign.

It was reported that Nerazzurri head coach Jose Mourinho, who knows Deco from their time together at Porto, was ready to take him to the San Siro, and the player has confirmed that talks are underway.

"I can confirm I'm talking with Inter," Deco is quoted as saying by The Sun.

"I didn't get to play much this year at Chelsea and a move to Italy would be a very good solution.

"To be coached by Mourinho again would be very interesting.

"But I don't want to go into details because it's not me who's dealing with the matter."

Mourinho recently intimated that he was looking to land Deco, remarking, "If I sign any Portuguese, it may be a Portuguese who isn't in Portugal. But I won't name names."

However, he could have been talking about any number of players, including Ricardo Carvalho. It was reported on Wednesday that Inter were hoping to purchase both Deco and Ricardo Carvalho this summer for a combined fee of €13.7m (£12m).

Even I think that tevez would be a better fit in our 4-3-3. Actually I think that he is THE perfect fit. I might be wrong but I believe that when you play the modern 4-3-3 formation, the 2 wide strikers have to cover the midfield too and has to have enough dynamism to run the pitch for a full 90mins. Cassano doesn’t help the midfield at all, and he ‘only’ gives a few glimpses of light every now and then. Otherwise he would be invisible. Obviously he has something which Tevez doesn’t possess, technique, but that is why I believe that Tevez would be a better fit, considering our situation. Whether the news is true….who knows, but surely Cassano has a release clause of 20m, therefore he is not difficult to get. You just have to give them cash as I strongly don’t believe that Sampdoria are team who would accept the likes of Suazo & Jimenez in exchange for their only superstar player. They’ll accept only cash, to be able to get a few promising youngsters.

Report: Inter To Move For Manchester City's Elano

The Nerazzurri are preparing a €9.2 million offer for the Brazil international...

According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Serie A giants Inter are ready to pounce for Manchester City's Elano during the close-season.

Apparently, Nerazzurri head coach Jose Mourinho has been impressed by the 27-year-old's versatility and eye for goal. He is therefore readying a bid in the region of €9.2 million (£8m).

The 32-time capped Brazil international was linked with a move away from Eastlands during the transfer window after falling down the Citizens' pecking order.

However, the attacking midfielder, who has played in the middle as well as on the wing, played a more prominent role in the City side during the latter part of the 2008-09 campaign.

Since signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2007, Elano has made 80 appearances for the Premiershit outfit, scoring 18 goals.

The 5ft 9in midfielder has two-years left on his current contract, but it thought that the prospect of playing for the Italian champions, as well as in the Champions League, could lure him to the San Siro.

Inter ready Cassano assault

Sampdoria star Antonio Cassano is back in Inter's sights and the Nerazzurri have reportedly made a concrete approach.

The fiery marksman has rejuvenated his career at Doria after a miserable spell at Real Madrid.

Inter and Juventus have been regularly linked with Cassano and reports suggest that the Beneamata are ready to make a definitive move.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter are ready to activate Cassano's release clause, which is set at around £18m.

Sampdoria would only receive £13m of that money, as they must pay Real £5m due to the terms of Cassano's contract.

Doria President Riccardo Garrone has declared his intention to keep hold of Cassano, but his resolve would be severely tested by such a bid.

Giampaolo Pazzini has excelled since his arrival from Fiorentina and the club may build a new attack around him.
