"Sono contento che Aquilani ha rinnovato il contratto, io sto parlando del mio in questo periodo e siamo quasi alla fine", lo annuncia Mirko Vucinic ai microfoni di Skysport24. It's better than signing Aguero and Tevez because Vooch contributes as much as the two of them combined but only takes up one spot in the team which means we can get away with carrying dead weight like Totti. Thank god we're not playing tonight - I don't think my stomach could have taken it.

I don't know if any of you pricks saw my post in the other general calcio thread and have chosen politely to ignore me, but I'll try again in the absence of anything reassuringly Roma-focused to discuss. Maldini's retirement has got me nostalgic about the great players I've enjoyed watching over the past 10 or 15 years (the stretch of my time as a proper follower of football) and so I'm wondering which are the players you guys have especially admired over that period - even if only for a season or two. So someone like Kluivert at Barca, perhaps, or Luis Enrique or Mendieta before he went to the merda to rot.

Tom, I did see your fine post in the General Calcio thread and meant to reply but never quite got round to it – I had even thought about my team but didn't get round to putting it into words, but will do.

I haven't seen the Olimpico this packed since the home game to Chievo reserves. At least the United scum are in the Curva Nord, were the scum is usually located. Its sad and unusual seeing such a grand occasion in the Olimpico without us. Here we go, game on, Forza Barca!
