Pharmaceutical magnate Francesco Angelini is interested in buying "60 or 70 percent" of Italian soccer club AS Roma. The Serie A side have been the subject of interest for several years, with billionaire financier George Soros walking away from talks last year.

"Rather than take all the club, I would be interested in buying 60 or 70 percent, perhaps with someone who has already contacted me," Angelini was quoted as saying in Italian media on Saturday.

In a series of statements, Roma and their controlling company, Italpetroli, have said no talks had taken place and that no serious offers had been rejected.

Roma are sixth in Serie A and look set to miss out on the lucrative Champions League next term. Their disappointing season has led to unrest among supporters, who have criticised club president Rosella Sensi and coach Luciano Spalletti.

Guys, I'm on the prayer mat...I don't want to say more on our Messiah as I don't want to tempt providence further!

Pauly and Tommaso, on being long suffering, I think Gio will agree the past 9 years are as close as we've got to coming anywhere near the 1980's, even with its lows to match the highs. Irrespective of whether, as a group, all we Romanisti have agreed with them or not, we have read the much varied analyses and opinions on our club from simply having a very good coach and players in the early 2000's to stumbling inadvertently through necessity onto what became (up to a point) a winning formula from the mid to the later 2000's while being given in no small way a helping hand by calciopoli! But...on a results alone basis, I'd say, by our standards it's been pretty good, all told, if no longer!

Yes, I'd love to see la magica once again justified as our nick...and while we wait for that to happen, just be glad to be part of my rediscovered heritage. I won't be going elsewhere! It's more than just football...my family are mainly from the San Biaggio, Villa Latina, Sorrento area...in all sense what would I do but turn to Roma?

So who's gonna watch the match this afternoon? Massive game, must-win, really looking forward to it and to seeing... meeeeeeeeehhhhhh, why bother. Its hard being a Roma supporter eh. No seriously, despite all the shit over the last couple of months, this is actually a fairly important game today to ensure 6th spot (jasus that sounds depressin) and the Europa Cup. The Europa Cup may not sound like much now with our failing to break into the top four and the CL spots, but it is still important not to blow it all together and have no European football at all next season. Whatever our chances are of landing some quality from somewhere in the close season to improve the squad it will be twice as hard if there's no European competition on the bill for next season, even if it is only a second rate competition.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of mentality the boys will have toward this game today. One wonders if Spalletti's (over?) complicated mind is still fully focused on the task at hand or if there are darker thoughts resonating from within that gloriously bald skull of his. I guess we'll be able to tell within a couple of minutes of kick-off. The good news is the Return of the LitM:

Yeah lets hope for a decent stream. I just seen that bet365 is covering it (does that work for you?), which is good, as Atdhe.net has become a bit erratic lately. They have the game listed so lets hope its the same stream as bet365 and not a crap Justin one (which has gone pure useless altogether).

I'll be watching it on BET365 as well. God I really hope someone picks up the rights to Serie A for Ireland/UK next season. I'm tired of watching the matches on a computer. At least BET365 don't charge for it I suppose.
