Yeah, I read that, Frenche', but what is there to say? There has been a kinda sorta tentative approach about the club, but nothing so formal that ItalPetroli has to report it and the Sensi family continues to back their mantra of "Roma is ours" or as channel4's translation has it, "a divorce between Roma and the Sensi family is not imaginable.â€

I do not know much about them. It seems better than the rumours we have had last year though...how can it be worst than Soros?

I guess there is no point to start talking too much about it yet as we may hear lots of stories from now to the end of the season (especially if things are not going too well for us). We will be linked to everybody and I fear once again there will be no Italian interested.
That is something that I never understood honestly.
In such a beautiful like Roma where football means so much, how can no one see a great opportunity to make money and develop a great team?

I had this very long and involved post about Mick and Muck Flick, Donatella Missikoff, her Roman mother, Fabio Alescio, and a rant against Rosella, Spalletti and the whole bloody organization. But, my computer crashed.

Real quick, it does not look like there will power concentrated in a single owner. It looks like the risk is going to be spread over a number of individuals.

Rosella has to go. The Sensi's have to go. It's time. I just don't want to see her face again as long as I live. Also, I know hope Spalletti leaves as well. Fuck him and his emphasis on talent from abroad, the lack of youth development, and his stubborness.

I guess I better make this a bit of a marathon effort as I may not properly get back to forum action until next week. Some annoying distractions in the way right now! One after another... That's my main excuse for being AWOL, Ed!

That aside, yes, Steve, no-one likes talking or in our collective case, typing to himself...there's too many ifs and buts and not enough concrete info to do much posting at the moment I guess.

For example, Tuna-Man's temptingly interesting but nonetheless speculative titbits on Aquilani and Flick:

As I understand it, Alberto is now back home again, waiting out a 10 day period after which it will be decided whether or not he needs surgery. All very indefinite...if anyone here remembers Nubil(Nou Mestella) from our days on XFF, he and I exchanged a number of posts a good 18 months ago on just how injury prone Aquilani seems to be. Nubil said then we should get rid when Juventus had the hots for our little eagle. Well I'm with Tuna here in giving him the benefit of the doubt. Remember we are actually talking about one of the better young players in Italy and he deserves a chance to rediscover his once sparkling form. Just as long as he doesn't repay our patience by running off to Inter once he recovers!

As for Flick...I'd kind of like to see what info Gio has. November/December before last I had a really good look around reading the general reaction to Flick's very sudden back-off from us. Rosella's implication that the old man who was then still alive had contacts able to bring swift and merciless repercussion on those who tried to push la famiglia Sensi out of Roma was being taken pretty seriously in some circles. I know how Italy works and some of those people don't. I'll leave it at that. In any case, even if Flick now fancies his chances with Franco out of the picture, it's still all gossip related speculation as nothing definite has been openly done.

So, Gio...scopata Spalletti! That indeed leaves us with ASR1927's question of just who might we replace him with? If it were to happen this summer, Del Neri will probably get a mention and a big "no" from me. Next summer could mean Ancelotti or even Ranieri, both Romanisti. I imagine Carletto would need to see a lot more spending money available before coming to us and as for Mr second best Ranieri, if we got him then that's exactly what we could expect. I wouldn't even discuss the various names currently related to the lower Serie A clubs...floaters as I call them, or drifters going where they can, always moving. We need better!

'Moldo, I wouldn't know where to start on youth policy. For as long as I can remember, various spokespersons from many Italian clubs have justified buying stranieri as opposed to Italiani, giving the reason that importing foreigners is a cheaper and just as good option. Of course there have been many exceptions to that statement making nonsense of it but the fact also remains that in continuing to operate a liberal foreign buying policy, too many clubs are blocking the way through to all but the very best of Italy's young hopefuls as well as making things more difficult for the seniors. It's hardly a new complaint...Marco Simone must be a classic case while Franco Zola just got pissed off with it all and they go back to the mid 1990's.

But now it's reaching ridiculous proportions. Earlier this evening i Laziali only fielded 3 Italians!

Pauly, with luck, Saturday's visit to the Artemio Franchi ought to see us with Panucci, Vučinić, and Doni at very least also available so if I start by hoping we're not beaten...then if la viola are still off form and we can manage to outscore them which seems to have been our modus operandi for too damn long in those games we have won then who knows?

Mediaset today has thrown another name into the mix, Fioranello, an Italian-Swiss. This is probably the same firm Gio refers to a few posts back.

and now there is news that totti could be out too since he managed to injure himself in training. 4th place just doesnt appear to be in the cards for us this season. it seems that each time we manage to start making headway in its pursuit (most recently being the results from last week), we end up getting shafted from an injury crisis, player suspensions, bad officiating, internal team turmoil, etc.
