Impressive enough game so far - from both sides. Quite open and some nice football on display. Diomountene and Riise have it fairly easy at the back but they will have to keep focused, Lecce have had a couple of half chances*. Totti and Baptista are looking particularly sharp for us.

Sampdoria could do us huge favours by beating both of them out so that we could steal to 4th. it's going to be down to the wire since we have to play Milan near the end, as do Fiorentina. gonna be tough to hold off Genoa even if Sampdoria do us those favours.

Thanks Jammy, your a great guy too. Its not like we're talking about run-of-the-mill youngsters who may never really make it or who will probably end up on the rooster of a struggling Serie A side or in Serie B, these players like Scardina or Petrucci are hotly tipped to one day be quality players, and so-called "next Totti's" and all that ballacks, so yes I think a little bit of loyalty and respect from these young lads is not too much to ask. If they are as good as they're meant to be they will one day make the breakthrough and follow in the footsteps of Totti or De Rossi and get to live the dream all (real) Romans aspire too, and not fall over themselves on they're way to the riches of the Foreign Investors League.

From your point number 3 there I get the feeling what your saying is not just restricted to calcio but implies that there is a better standard of living and better prospects in England than in Italy, so they should just go there and ignore their roots and culture, and that could be applied to any youngster living in Italy whether they be a footballer or a scholar or just a general bright or ambitious kid. If so, then that doesn't say much for Italy as a football nation or as a country as a whole. Calcio may be struggling at present compared to the Foreign Investors League but having every kid with a little bit of promise jump ship because the contract laws are fecked up is not the way to go about doing things or to help address the problems which exist, and thats when a little bit of loyalty is needed for the good of the game.
