De Ceglie discharged from Fornaca clinic, Sissoko misses Sampdoria

As per schedule, while taking advantage of the return of all international players to Turin, the Juventus medical staff published its usual bulletin. Directly from the words of Dr Riccardo Agricola, interviewed on Juventus Channel.

The most important bit of news regards Paolo De Ceglie. Eight days after the bad injury suffered during the Coppa Italia match against Napoli, the young player from Valle D’Aosta was discharged from the Fornaca clinic and returned home. His conditions are satisfactory and the pneumo-thoraic problem is nearly completely healed. Next week other tests are due. If the results show a total recovery of the player, it will be time for a 30 day period prior to a return to work.

In view of Sunday’s match against Sampdoria, Mr Ranieri will not be able to count on Momo Sissoko. The Mali midfielder is suffering of a contortion/distortion of his leg. He will take advantage of the coming days to recover completely and will be back with the team on Monday.

Giorgio Chiellini is doing well. The defender was on the field for most of the match against Chisola and his return on the field is now close.

The conditions of Knezevic and Zebina are improving. Both players underwent a biomechanical test on Monday in Perugia under Professor Cerulli. The recovery of both players is progressing well. The Croatian should be back with the team during this week whereas the Frenchman should be back during the next.

There are conflicting reports that say Sissoko will be out for 2 months instead of 1. Due to the nature of the injury, I say 2 months is more realistic for a fracture. Camo fractured a rib?? Now is not the time for players to go down to injury. This is a crucial part of the season. Offload Camo after this season, his injuries are ridiculous. If Marchionni can stay healthy and play more games, then you know you got serious issues. Ranieri has 3 days to make a mid-field of Tiago-Poulsen to work. Good thing he's got that depth prior to the season. Maybe this Sissoko injury is a blessing in disguise. I think this is Tiago's last opportunity to make something happen. A game winning scorcher in ET would win me over.

I'm not aware of Marchisio being injured.

I think that report is confusing him with Marchionni, who is a doubt for the game.

Legro and Grygera have both been passed fit to play.

The question is, do we want Legro to play?? He couldn't mark Drogba for his life. He's terrible and would only make for a sub in Serie A. He needs to be replaced.

Well... Legrottaglie was better than Chiellini in the first match against Chelsea. I think he is the best option out there right now, until Criscito or Santacroce can develop. Legrottaglie and Mellberg are good choices next to Chiellini. I have always been a big fan of Lugano, but I doubt we will sign a defender.

What we need is a proper RB. De Ceglie can be backed up at LB by Molinaro. That is fine. Grygera is better as a bench option than a starter. He is good in every position, but not good enough to start. We need an RB that can move forward, because... and I will be saying this non-stop until it happens... we need to be running a 4-3-1-2. It is incredibly obvious that this is the best formation for Juventus, especially when Nedved retires.

As for Zanetti and Zebina... they should be sold. Both players did well for us, but now it is time to turn the page.
