It's no surprise to me that rumours are again flying over Trezeguet leaving and I don't mean because of the midweek row with Ranieri. As it happens, I thought he'd have been off to Barca when things got kind of heavy between them a while back. Now we have Olympique Lyonnais saying they are willing to rise to the bait with a possible exchange involving Benzema.

All I can say is I wish my Lupi could be believably linked with a talent like Benzema. Given Trezeguet's age, I reckoned Cobolli Gigli & co. could have done a lot worse than selling him off to Barcelona while he was still worth serious money. Provided of course that this Benzema proposal is true, if Juventus don't take advantage of it and move Trez out this summer...you risk having to take only what you can get for him in the future. Perhaps you'll all sing a different song from me but from where I'm looking, I see someone who though is still capable of getting the odd goal, could well become an expensive liability to the old lady in time to come...

Andrew, you think Benzema will get to Madrid? They got Huntelaar and I was proved right on that point from ages ago when many said he'd come to Juve...on the other hand I don't think Benzema would refuse Juventus!

I think we all love Trez, but if a part exchange is possible, then i think it's time to part ways. But if we can't get Benzema I would keep Trez, I still think he has a lot to give, given him and Ranieri can come to terms. If not, then I side with Ranieri on this. Although I think Trez has a point, it wasn't the right way to go about letting your coach know what you think.

Juventus striker David Trezeguet is edging ever closer to a move away from Turin after accepting compliments from Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas.

The 31-year-old striker has fallen out with Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri after he substituted him during the Bianconeri's Champions League tie with Chelsea last week.

Trezeguet told French newspaper L'Equipe he was puzzled and disappointed by Ranieri's decision to replace him with eight minutes remaining and Juventus in need of a goal.

Ranieri later called the former Monaco youngster a Ã¢â‚¬Å“spoilt childÃ¢â‚¬

In my opinion, it would be a HUGE mistake to let Trez go, UNLESS we can sign Benzema.

He still has another season in him as a starter, I would guess.

It then comes down to him: is he willing to be used as a super-sub or does he want to call it a day as soon as he isn't the main man in the team.
