Il centrocampista cileno Pizarro si è infortunato nel corso della gara contro l'Udinese. Il giallorosso, secondo Sky, avrebbe subito una lesione al retto femorale e dovrà effettuare delle risonanze per verificare se la distrazione è di primo o secondo grado

David Pizarro is out of Tuesday's Champions League game with Arsenal after suffering a suspected thigh strain.

The Roma midfielder called for a substitution 40 minutes into today's Serie A encounter with Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico.

He limped off before the substitute had even been lined up and according to the latest reports has torn a muscle in his thigh.

More tests will be needed to determine the extent of the injury, but it is safe to say he won't be ready for Tuesday's European test.

The Chilean has been struggling with physical problems all season and was only able to play the second half of the first leg at the Emirates.

Roma are already without Simone Perrotta, Marco Cassetti and Max Tonetto, while Christian Panucci is not on the Champions League list.

Francesco Totti, Juan and Simone Loria are also major doubts in defence for that match.

ROMA, 7 marzo 2009 - "Il silenzio costa più delle parole, trovo ingiustificabili le istigazioni alla violenza fatte a freddo". Ecco la risposta di Rosella Sensi alle polemiche scatenate in settimana da Mourinho. Il presidente della Roma fino ad oggi era rimasta in silenzio, tanto che oggi, durante la partita con l'Udinese, i tifosi della curva sud hanno esposto uno striscione, diretto proprio alla Sensi, con queste parole: "Pronta a schierarti contro un tuo giocatore, ma protestare quando non c'è rigore?". "Ci possono stare le reazioni a caldo - ha detto ancora la Sensi - ma quelle a freddo fanno male al calcio e creano difficoltà. Il mio silenzio? C'è un senso di responsabilità, ho preferito mantenere la calma. Mi preoccupano le dichiarazioni a freddo e mi riferisco a tutti. La partita di oggi? Ringrazio i ragazzi, hanno saputo reagire e pareggiare nonostante fossero in dieci".

I swear fate's playing its hand for a reason...I just wish I knew what it is!

We never seem to be out of the wood with injuries and when we get players back it takes time to get them match fit again. Except they often don't properly get there because of picking up yet another problem and that's not taking suspensions into account which also deprives us! Of course all this contributes in no small way to the missed opportunities on the pitch a sharper player would take advantage of. It's becoming harder to remain optimistic in view of one setback after another yet this is Roma's history or it seems so!

I don't remember which one of you guys said back in the autumn that maybe we need a real fuck-up of a season to force a change...as it happens, things could actually be a lot worse than they are so perhaps we should be grateful for that at least, and hope for positives sooner rather than later! Dammit, at this rate we're gonna limp into the summer break...

Going into this game with so many important players missing or in doubt is not good.
I fear we may not even have the chance to compete with Arsenal on wednesday.
Fuck all these injuries...it s really crazy!!!
