I personally dont beleive that Aguero is for sale and if Atl. are gonna sell him, someone has to match his buyout clause which is 60M euros. Now if Atl. will accept some 20-25M + Quaresma & Burdisso, thats one thing but surely Inter aint gonna splash 60M on one player, I'm totally sure about that.
Also I dont beleive that going all out on Aguero & Hamsik and then reiterate on second options would be a great idea. Surely these players will take a huge amount of time to capture and unless we have something certain in hand, we should push on more than one front. Look at what happened this summer. We practically only pushed for Lampard in that role only to then have to settle for Muntari. If we wait too long, the good players which are available will be gone soon enough. Thats why I say that we need to put our efforts on those who are available. Milito & Diego for example are available at a cost, and if we try too hard on Hamsik & Aguero without success, they might be gone when we turn on them.
I say lets let Aguero in there for another year. get Milito. Then see what happens about Adriano, Balotelli & Acquafresca next season and make your conclusions after that..i.e. summer 2010. Obviously that is unless some other club would be near to acquiring any one of those 2 this summer, cause that would drastically change the scenario we currently have.
So Hamsik & Aguero in 2010. This summer, we get Milito, Diego, someone to replace permanently Vieira & another (possibly free) good & proven CB, like Juve did with Mellberg. I'd be happy with something like that.

We also have Coutinho coming in 2010 who'll hopefully have the same impact as Pato.

Diego would be fine, too. We have a system that will fit him in perfectly which alot of European teams don't have. But will his price be any less than Hamsik? You're looking at the same figures here so Branca might as well throw it out to Napoli and see what they say instead of conceding defeat without trying.

And how on fuckin earth has Vieira been suspended for getting too many yellows? The guy's played about 20 mins all season and he's managed to get that many yellows already? Fucking useless.

PS. Thanks MI, it was a pretty tense Grand Final so glad to have won it. Looking forward to the new teams coming in soon as well.

Coutinho shall be coming in 2010 but I expect him to take another 1-2 years to get himself into the first team. BTW, anyone’s heard anything about what he’s doing in Brazil? Havent heard anything at all about the guy.

With regards to Diego & Hamsik, I believe there is about 10M difference between one player & the other. Reason being is that their respective clubs have different expectations from their players. Whereas Diego is free to leave because he’s said that a million times & his contract expires next year if I aint mistaken, Napoli don’t want to sell Hamsik unless they receive an indecent offer & Hamsik is extremely happy at Napoli. That’s why there’s a good difference between the 2 with regards to their price. Also I might add that these 2 players do not play in the same role so that might shift a little towards Hamsik, since Diego plays where Dejan does (and apparently Mou is quite fond of him), whereas Hamsik plays were Muntari does….

There's little point in Juventus, AS Roma and AC Milan taking to the pitch this weekend if we are to believe a word Jose Mourinho has to say. During his seven-minute party-piece on Tuesday, the Portuguese pitbull dismissed his rivals as also-rans in the title race, although he have been speaking too soon. He’s now threatened never to speak to the press again, so we can expect an almighty sulk, not only from the sanctions he faces from the football powers that be, but also if Inter’s title procession hits the buffers.

The Nerazzurri can just about kiss goodbye to the Italian Cup after Nelson Rivas played his part in handing Sampdoria a comfortable 3-0 lead to take into the second leg. There was plenty of sniggering after that result, but that will be nothing compared to the unbridled glee throughout most of the country that will greet a pounding at Old Trafford.

Talk is cheap, as they say, and no doubt Inter need to start doing their talking on the pitch. Their problem is that, unlike Roma or Milan, they are not a flamboyant bunch – more inclined to the regimented and physical approach. Apart from the odd moment of the unexpected from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, winning ugly has been the order of the day.

All this negativity bouncing off the walls inside the camp could well be their undoing. Generally speaking, on the home front, Serie A players do not react well to a siege mentality, preferring to be feted and adored by one and all.

The coach’s tirade certainly seemed to rattle some of the players in the cup game, and the champs, who are back in action against a Genoa side unbeaten at home this weekend, could end up looking like chumps in the Ligurian city for a second time.

All good news then for Juventus, who have the Turin derby to negotiate before they face Chelsea. Toro coach Walter Novellino has stated that he would forego two months’ salary for a derby win, but his money looks safe.

Claudio Ranieri’s men are grinding out results much in the manner of the Juve of old, and will no longer be clutching at straws if they can close that gap at the top to within five points with 11 games to go. For the third Champions League hopeful, Roma, each day leading up to their return leg with Arsenal will be sheer torture.

È un Mourinho 'medievale' quello che si è presentato nel dopo partita di Genoa-Inter, evitando ogni commento sull'episodio più discusso del match: il gol fantasma di Balotelli: «Io non l'ho visto molto bene dalla mia posizione». Dallo studio di Sky gli mostrano il gol fantasma e il tecnico nerazzurro dopo una risatina a dentri stretti risponde: «Non parlo più di queste cose, non sono nessuno per farlo. Sono un allenatore che parla solo del suo lavoro e della squadra che ha fatto una grande partita. L'arbitro ha lavorato bene perché la gara era veloce, lascio a voi la moviola. È la moviola che è famosa in Italia».

I COMPLIMENTI - Mourinho, evitate le polemiche, parla soprattutto dell'importante successo di Marassi: «Abbiamo giocato con grande capacità facendo una gara di qualità con uno spirito importante soprattutto dopo i ko dei due centrali. L'avversario non era facile ed io non ho potuto dosare le forze a causa del doppio infortunio nel primo tempo. Nella partita contro la Sampdoria c’è stato con qualche errore individuale, che può succedere. Oggi abbiamo avuto giocatori con grande capacità, tutti hanno fatto una partita di qualità, come squadra c’è stato un atteggiamento importante, uno spirito importante. Abbiamo perso Burdisso e Materazzi e con due nuovi difensori centrali la squadra ha dovuto fare una partita con doppia concentrazione. Con 75 minuti e un solo cambio, con un Ibra che aveva bisogno di uscire prima, con Figo che non giocava titolare da tanto tempo, con Balotelli che per il suo lavoro difensivo, fantastico sulla fascia, non sapevo se fossero troppi 90 minuti… La gestione della partita non è stata facile, l’avversario non era facile, il Genoa è una delle migliori squadre del campionato, non perdeva in casa da un anno, ha una grandissima capacità offensiva. I miei giocatori meritano la vittoria».

LA CHAMPIONS - Chiusura sulla Champions. Il Manchester ha vinto 4-0 in Fa Cup con il Fulham ma il tecnico portoghese non si preoccupa: «Oggi ho avuto una risposta positiva, la squadra ha avuto grandissimo spirito, non abbiamo fatto un gioco molto offensivo, senza Materazzi e Burdisso e senza la possibilità di fare cambi per gestire la partita. Cambiasso come difensore centrale è stato grandissimo, è stato un leader; il centrocampo ha avuto grande spirito di sacrifico; in attacco i giocatori nel momento della verità hanno fatto la differenza. Il gol di Ibra è quello di un fuoriclasse, il gol di Balotelli non l’ho visto molto bene… ».
