Bombonera inspires Juve stadium

Juventus are modelling their new ground on the Bombonera, the legendary stadium of Argentine club Boca Juniors.

The Bianconeri have played at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin since 2006 and hope to move into their new home in time for the 2010-11 season.

We can only go on the things they've said about the stadium. We know it's going to have an english style to it, but I also like the idea of building it high on a sharp angle. From that picture, it looks like the seats were built on a 45 degree angle. The fans in the upper deck look to be right on top of the action, even though their 50 rows up. Compare that to the delle alpi, where even if you were sitting in row 1 you needed binoculars. I can't wait to see the finished product. It's going to be a great stadium.

A dream comes true for Yang Yun, a Chinese promise at Juventus for a trial period

Last May the dream began to come true and today it has finally become a reality. The dream is that of Yang Yun, a young promising player of Shangai Shenhua, one of the teams Juventus met during the Asia Pacific Tour at the end of last season.

The youngster, 20 years old and a central defender is 1.83 metres tall and weighs 66 kilos. He was selected last May by the Juventus technical staff who had seen a number of videos of him playing during the Fiat Cup and will now join the Primavera for a trial period.

In the past few days Yang Yun arrived in Turin, underwent the medical tests, saw the Juventus Center and today wore the jersey and shoes getting on the field for his first training session with the bianconeri. It was a baptism of fire. Today’s session consisted of a friendly match between the Primavera and the first team and Yang Yun played for the whole of the first half immediately having to face The Waterboy and friends. The youngster did well winning a number of balls and earning the compliments of Massimiliano Maddaloni.

Yang Yun will remain in Turin until the 10th of April and will have the chance to live an extraordinary experience, training with the fresh Viareggio champions and in close contact with the Juventus stars.
