I stopped even thinking about reasons for dreams, let alone trying to analyse them for meaning. So many, at least of mine are totally improbable...back at school and fearing screwing up an exam? Gimme a break!

It's still early enough days for the week end team selection to change but for what it's worth, Mediaset told us today that Totti quit the training session early with a left ankle problem and that we will do well to see Vučinić and Aquilani for the CL gig with the Arseholes next week. We already know that Perrotta and De Rossi are suspended for the Siena match.

The Happy Days just keep rollin' on...

Thanks a lot for this, Fonz. We're actually going to be on the other side of the island - flying into and out of Catania and not getting further North than Taormina or further West than Piazza Armerina, I think, in part on the basis that we're going to get back to Palermo on another trip in the not-too-distant future. There are cheap flights into Palermo, so we may have a longish weekend there later in the summer. I've wanted to go to Segesta for a while; it looks stunning. I don't know if the comparison is right, but it reminds me of the temple complex at Cumae - similarly isolated and a stunning combination of landscape and classical ruins. Cumae remains one of the most extraordinarily special places I've ever been. Have you been to the eastern side of Sicily too? The moglie has booked us a little succession of stops in Taormina, Siracusa, Modica, and Ragusa. I'm hoping we may get across to Agrigento, though that, too, may be for another trip. It'll be a special trip for me in part for the classical history the place is steeped in. I've just been teaching bits and pieces of the second Punic War and so to tread some of the turf and to pop in and see Plato at Siracusa is going to be great. That and the wine and the sea.
