I don't think anybody disputes that Seedorf is playing like shite, Rob, but again that doesnt make Beckham our most viable attacking option, thats a huge stretch. Kaka,Pato and Pirlo are our most creative players upfront, and the fourth main player when it comes to the attack is usually Janku because of the width he provides considering the horrible season of Clarence. Beckham, based on the last 3 games, overtakes Janku there, but he's absolutely 1-dimensional, the dude wouldn't dribble past a player even if his life depended on it and at times it looks we're playing with 10 men becuase u can't even see him. His crosses and delivery from set-pieces are very good (nothing new there) but other than that he does not contribute much, he simply does not fit in his role in the midfield given the characteristics of this teams, he's not a player to use near the centre of the pitch

It has been working for the last few games, but Im of the opinion he's gonna be exposed big time come the Derby in 2 weeks where the midfield battle will decide it all. He's tactically clueless, not ready for physical opponents, defensive liability,cannot keep possession of the ball, can barely run with/without the ball. I hope I'm wrong as I hope whoever plays helps Milan, but I guess we will find out in 2 weeks

the man, i think thats a bit of a stretch.

beckham has provided some width for us (as has ambrosini surprisingly) since he's come. don't forget our second goal was from a freekick that beckham won after he beat his man! he got past his man, then the defender just bundled him over from behind. beckham isnt known for beating his man, but he does surprise his marker on occasion. i've seen it plenty of times. (i am a closet beckham fan, can you tell?)

i agree in the sense that beckham isnt our main threat, but beckhams passing was fantastic the other day. he was always was an open option for pirlo (and others), his passing was controlled, and i think hes very tactically intelligent. a player who made his name on the wing with no trickery or speed as assets is definitely going to be very tactically intelligent.

i don't think we can rely too much on him, but i think its only fair if his contribution is appreciated.

our next game will be a huge test for the midfield, especially beckham. pirlo is out suspended, so i would imagine flamini will be inserted into the lineup in his place. i would prefer to see ronaldinho back in, and give seedorf another shot in the middle. a flamini-beckham-ambrosini midfield will be the most boring shit ever.

Clarence Seedorf cannot wait to sample the Ibrox atmosphere once again when Rangers host AC Milan in Wednesday night's glamour friendly. The midfielder, 32, had recently signed for the Italian giants when they travelled to Glasgow for a pre-season friendly back in July 2002. Fellow Dutchman Ronald De Boer and Claudio Caniggia were both on the scoresheet for Rangers in an entertaining 2-2 draw on that occasion and Seedorf is anticipating another enjoyable tussle.

He said: "That match was a very long time ago and, indeed, we have achieved a lot of things in the last six years. It will be good to be back. It has been very good for us from that moment on. It's good to look back and see over the last six years we have achieved a lot and won a lot of cups. It's great to be back in Glasgow.

"The fans were fantastic; it's a beautiful stadium, great pitch - the perfect atmosphere for a football match. It's all good memories, especially because of the atmosphere around the game. It's always a big pleasure to go to the north of the UK and enjoy the football match."

Rangers boasts positive connections with some of Seedorf's compatriots, with both De Boer brothers, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Arthur Numan and former boss Dick Advocaat among those who have enjoyed successful spells at Ibrox.

And Seedorf added: "They have always been very positive about the city and life in Scotland in general. I haven't heard any negative words from any of them. It's a great place for a player to be and we will enjoy it this time."

Another former Rangers player familiar to Seedorf is Milan team-mate Gennaro Gattuso, who spent a year in Glasgow in the late 1990s before returning to his native Italy. Since then, he has gone on to enjoy success in Serie A, the Champions League and the World Cup and is still held in high regard by the Ibrox faithful. However, fans who had been hoping to see him action again would have been disappointed when Gattuso was ruled out for the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.

Seedorf told Rangers World: "Gattuso has told us about the experience there; he was still a young player. Unfortunately, he is injured at the moment. He is a great guy and a good friend. I don't know if he will come with us; hopefully he will and enjoy a bit of a relationship with his old fans."
