Chris, you deserve a better readership. Mind you, having read the Palermo guy's preview of the midweek game , I think perhaps I have to give the romanisti a bit more credit. That was shamefully dire. How old is that guy? 12?

Not a lot to add to you guy's opinions except to say I too think we should have come out of this with a 2-1 away win!

Too often I've seen Spalletti make what is theoretically the correct move...sit on a narrow lead over the last 10-15 mins by adding the extra defender and sacrificing a more offensive player. But with our defence? Jekyll and Hyde Mexes and Cicinho? Loria?

We'd have been better pushing on...hell we were obliged to do that anyway, and with one less attacking option after Reggina equalised!

Yes, the part waterlogged pitch did our passing game no favours as did being starved of so many starting quality players, but...

As for Okaka, I still have belief in him as a striker but he is no out and out target man, today made that clear even if he had a good work effort game.

Panucci? He'll still do us a service until the summer, believe me we will be glad of him. But we must look to the future and a younger man. Again on Mexes...if we could get a player of his same ability but with a more stable temperament then it wouldn't annoy me at all to wish him "adieu, Monsieur Philippe!"

lol, I was in need of a good laugh: Chris's blog never lets me down. And when I say your blog, C, I do of course mean the comments. I mean can you believe some muppet posted this (he has a username made of the letters r o m a) :

Lord knows none of us are overly fond of our management under Rosella and Prade (and Rosella is regular under Prade, or is the other way round?), but hey, we have to give them credit. Wrapping up deals for two new defenders in such a short space of time and under time constraints? Very nice indeed. I had fears that we were signing Diamoutene just because he was an easier and cheaper option than Motta, but how nice to be proved wrong (I can still see Diamoutene being sent back to Lecce come summer, however). Excellent stuff to add Motta our squad and to be included for CL action, delighted with his signing.

Maro, I don't think Motta is like a "ztop-gap zolution", as you suggested, that honour could fall to Souleymane.
