here Galliani argues that Berlu simply cannot devote as much money to Milan as before because of his role as prime Minister during a global economic crisis. And it makes sense. Imagine Obama pouring millions into a ball team and then critisizing management of AIG for buying corporate jets...he'd be crucified. Sure Milan is still generating a lot of revenue via TV and shirt sales, but it has a high overhead due to high wages of deadweight players.

shingai, you are not the first to suggest that the club is in a money squeeze on this forum. i even suggested that silvio does not have enough liquid assets to run the club properly as a result of the financials going insolvent. i don't buy the argument that football is a business one bit as an excuse for our disgusting transfer strategy. you know what is even more a business? a corporation. barca is a corporation, so are juve. both these teams build teams that are build to win because they know that players who win with the team will sell shirts, like kaka. we are in the business of selling shirts, not football, and that is what i find disgusting. i don't mind it if the club finishes second in the league every year and loses in the cl final year after year. i don't mind it when we lose. i only mind when we don't try to win.

Loads of credit to Beckham for his role in that goal - that was exactly the kind of movement I don't think he can bring and which your side so desperately needs. I can't shake the feeling that more than anything it's an indictment on Lazio's left-back, but credit to Beckham all the same. I admire the guy; I still don't think he's what your side needs.
