if you guys get motta, that is an impressive buy for you guys. the guy is the azzurrini captain and hes always done well for them (in the matches that i've seen atleast).

Oh man, this is certainly good, yet inconclusive news......but its certainly exciting if both deals materialize and we get both Motta and Diamoutene.

Lets cross our fingers and hope that management realizes that a bit more $$$ should not matter when we have CL aspirations that can be reached (by improving on our team's deficiencies), with both signings.

So Totti and Baptista are out for tomorrow's game, while this new defender is in. We can't catch a break with Totti. He plays one game and sits out another. They say its because of his back, but I'm just happy that its not the same problem that kept him out for so long.

So we've signed Diamoutene on loan for €150,000, with the option to buy him outright at the end of the season for a further €3.15m. So if he does impress and we do decide the buy him, he will cost us €3.3m, which is a fairly big amount for a backup defender who's ability is unproven in a top side. Diamoutene earns €375,000 at Lecce, which we will now pick up, and if we do make his move permanent he will earn €1m per-season, rising by €100,000 for the following two years.

Despite looking like a done deal late last night, we still haven't reached a final agreement with Udinese (surprised?). Udinese want €400,000 now for the loan of Motta, and then €3.5 for co-ownership of him in the summer, meaning we'd pay €4m for half of him, a fee which we our management don't agree with. They are playing fecking hardball and now it looks in doubt, which is a shame, so who knows what's going to happen.

Just read that press conference and it does sound as though Spal could've been describing Loria, the young/rb parts aside. Suppose we'll have to wait til Monday to see how the whole thing shakes out.

He's had two extended periods as an unused sub following starts this year - those starts featuring some monumental cock-ups. The handball in the box against Torino was just...oy. Hopefully he's got a shaman in tow for Juan & Philou.
