A three year contract demand and a wage increase, Jamdog, don't forget that part. Surely we won't give him that, but I see no reason why he wouldn't accept a one year extension with the option to extend, should he and our
Management be able to kiss and make up (a 'fake' kiss, I'm sure).

Negotiations are meant to be going on regarding Marco Motta from Udinese.

Motta is a fine young player and would be a good pickup, but his agent has said any move may be difficult given the poor relationship between our management and there's (they're still bitter over Spalletti). There has been no official contact, and he said a loan move would be highly unlikely as Motta is happy in Udine and it makes no sense for them to loan him out now.

And how confident would we be in our management striking a deal to buy him outright with only two days remaining on the mercato? Ha. I would certainly welcome Motta, but it seems highly unlikely.

Our defence? Motta is a good rising star, I've liked what I've seen in his Azzurrini appearances. I wouldn't object to our getting him.

Better late than never, my opinion on Panucci when he presumably leaves us at the season's end is that I will miss him and the good work he has done. At his age though he is replaceable and we must look to the future...

As for Mexes, you guys all know I class him as a Jekyll and Hyde type character. He will never be our version of il grande Maldini even if he himself thinks so, at least going by his recent press statements!

Loria? I remember back in the summer, neglecting to mention him in a post I made on our new signings and I made a joke with our good Professore to the effect that he may as well be left off the list for all the good he would do us...I haven't seen anything to change my mind since!

Interesting piece on Baptista, saying he prefers to play as a midfielder in our setup, as trequartista in behind two forwards. I thought he had being doing well for himself playing as a striker in the absence of Totti and Vucinic, showing a good goal-poaching instinct, and I would still have my doubts at his overall tecnincal quality and passing to play deeper as trequartista.

Pizarro has said the players want Panucci to stay at Roma and that he would be very difficult to replace:
