Pauly, do you remember Lima? It takes a pretty special player indeed to make him look useful.

I'm a bit surprised there are such reservations about extending Juan's contract for that amount. A couple of days ago Il Romanista or someone referred to him as "titolare indiscutibile," which I think is fair and which suggests, of course, he's exactly the kind of player we should be paying at the top of our range. He's Brazil's best defender and we must be paying him masses less than lots of other top European centre-backs are earning. Sure he's had more than his fair share of injuries, but he's on a little run of games now and I'd be interested to see how many more than Philippe he's actually missed over the past two seasons.

Lima was a legend. He offered us so much and never complained about playing out of position, that is to say anywhere on the pitch. Totti was lucky to play alongside side him for a few seasons. Falcao, Aldair, Lima, they will never be forgotten.

I agree about Juan, Maro. He is a crucial part to the side and while he has had his injury problems there can be no reservations about extending his contract, I think. I was just looking for something official on his extension but there is nothing yet that I can find, and in fact the only source which is saying we have reached an agreement with him is the Corriere dello Sport. But according to , they are saying an agreement has been reached but the club don't want to announce it yet as it may "create problems" with other contract negotiations with other players (i.e., Alberto).

The head was more than fine this morning, thank you Maro. Have been out playing astro for the afternoon – we've added an extra day to our two midweek games. The old joints aren't the same these days though (no pun intended), the ankles are getting sorer the older I get.

I think it's not just robust, Edzo. I think Spags is hoping Simone can do some of Francesco's running for him going forward too. I think he's working on the principle that together Simone and Francesco are (even) better than the sum of the parts.

Yes I think Perrotta was in to compliment Totti, but now it looks like both are on the bench in favour of Pizarro and The LitM. And Cassetti in at right-full.
