I agree with the analogy by Fonz, when he writes that "there is still magic and romance left in the game, it's just harder to find. It' s a bit like all this silicon breast explosion over the last decade that makes it harder to figure out who's the mildly good looking girl but with the really great set of natural knockers." Yes, this is very rare in (1) football (I truly rspect Kaka for snubbing money over a well-founded life in Milan) and (2) the world with women, especially for me since I live in Los Angeles.

In addition, the comment of "I would even venture to say that the real magic and romance displayed yesterday was by the rossoneri fans doing a vigil in front of Kaka's house. It reminds me of the most loyal fans of la magica..." I couldnt agree more. That was pure fanatism by the tifosi.

So great thoughts good man! I truly think along those lines when it comes to the game.

Sorry, Pnut, I've been bogged down with frustrating bits of admin all afternoon and gradually whipping myself into admin rage so not much of a chance for proper postings. I agree with Fonz, of course, that there's still magic and romance left in the old horse yet. I just think it's slowly getting squeezed out of it and one really has to hold onto plenty of irony when viewing most happenings in football these days. Given my excitement when Taddei and Vooch scored in Madrid last year, it's not as though the old game still doesn't have plenty of power to charm. Of course I just like to exaggerate from time to time. So, now, I can't help but sheik my head at the manner in which the whole Kaka' saga is being spun by the different parties.

Honestly, I have no idea about tomorrow. I imagine Spags will field a pretty strong side, just because that's his way. Personally, I'd do what Fonz was proposing - rest DDR and Mexes or Juan - but I suspect that's very unlikely. I'd play something like Taddei-Brighi-Perrotta across the middle, Aquilani and Pizza behind Baptista, and then bring Menez on from the bench. As I see it this is the kind of game that Spags ought to be prepared to sacrifice - what I'd love to have seen was Monty and Okaka up top, Panucci and Loria in the middle at the back, and so loads of guys getting a breather, but clearly too many of those guys are unavailable themselves. The Napoli game is a huge one, for me. Genoa have played some good stuff this season, but I would have thought they're the least likely of the teams in the mix to finish fourth and they still have to come and play us at the Olimpico. Napoli and Fiorentina are surely the biggest threats and Napoli's home record is superb this season. I'd sacrifice this game for the weekend, though I'm almost certain Spags won't.

I can never remember, is it only reds that carry over for/from Coppa matches or all cards? I recall that odd Simone touchline sending off sparking some sort of discussion somewhere on the subject. That may impact whether or not Daniele gets a breather; he's sitting on a yellow and I'm sure with a gun to Spal's head he'd have DDR for the six pointer at Napoli rather than the Coppa. Under 99.9% of circumstances you'd say he's an automatic inclusion, but this could be that 0.1%.

Shield, this is the only webpage I've ever come across that doesn't work in Maxthon - page shows up but doesn't allow one to click on links. You anti-China?

Maxthong - is that Tonetto's designer underwear brand? Chris, the Coppa cards, so far as I know, are entirely self-contained. The situation with the Supercoppa is slightly different for obvious reasons.

It'd be quite funny go get an 8-match 'Supercoppa' ban, though, wouldn't it? Especially if you played for Lyon, say, (or whatever they call their Zupercoup). You could win like 6 title medals and never win a Zupercoup.
