looking at the schedule, we just finished gameday 19. we should be able to take to 6th after next week (gameday 20) and almost definitely be 5th/6th by the week after (gameday 21). by gameday 23, we come up against Genoa and with a win against them, we may be able to level them.

Congrats ASR, its good to know that the wife and newborn daughter are healthy. May I suggest "Shaniqua" as a name?

As for the match, what a shit-fest. The pitch was a swamp and it was clear players were having trouble keeping their footing, much less accurately passing the ball. I think Cicinho and Taddei looked good on the right today, and Mexes/Juan were very solid. Riise looked fine and did not look like he was asked to attack very much today (not that we really used the left side). Looked good in a few tackles. Solid. Artur was never really threatened.

Pizarro really dissapointed me. His distribution was poor, he gave away the ball in all kinds of places, and there were plenty of times he could have made a simple square pass to continue play, rather than trying to dribble through 5 guys. But he's out of match practice, so we'll give him a pass.

As for the Beast, a lot of it was conditions I think and then being isolated up front, he's no Totti (ie. dropping back when up all alone), and probably has not played prima punta in our system too much... but that goal. That's what great strikers/forwards do.

Well I'm just grateful to have come out of an away game with all 3 points, even if it took a last gasp though certainly stunning goal to get us the win!

We could talk ourselves round in circles as to why despite our superior ball possession we didn't pose a great goalmouth threat to a Torino side in dire straits...we could mention that we don't have an on form first X1 at our disposal, and that even if we did have, we are still lacking in certain aspects. For all that, as I said in the autumn, I continue to believe that provided we are realistic we can still expect a reasonable end to our season.

Though it's not what we've become accustomed to...

So I see that we ahve a Coppa game against the much hated inter milan.

Im was totally elated to see mourinho's face during and after the game for that pathetic performance that his team put up

I'm wondering how you guys see Spal taking this up-coming game. Is he going to try to put a good performance against inter with some of our best players, or is it going to be another Coppa line-up with some of the best players getting some rest?

Also, something has really been bothering me......how come we haven't seen a new defensive player(s) signed yet? How come?

Its beyond me that we are almost 3/4 into January and no reasonable/suitable back-up CB has been rumored to come, let alone signed.

It is going to be a MAJOR mistake to continue to think that either Mexes or Juan will not be missing games to an injury or suspension. Stuff always goes down. Shouldn't we have the proper reinforcements lined up for the 2nd half of the season, and more importantly, the Champions League games?
