Dacourt picks Prem or Bologna?

Olivier Dacourt’s agent confirms offers from Tottenham and Newcastle, but admits relegation battlers Bologna have the upper hand.

The former Leeds United midfielder is set to leave Inter in January after finding no room under Jose Mourinho.

Setanta.com claim that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was in the stands for last night’s Coppa Italia game with Genoa and met with Dacourt.

Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed he wants to bring Tottenham's out-of-favour midfielder Jermaine Jenas to the San Siro. Sky Sports News claims that Mourinho told reporters that he wanted to sign Jenas at his weekly press conference.

The England international was stripped of the vice-captaincy at White Hart Lane earlier in the week and was reported to have been used as bait in Spurs' efforts to sign both Wilson Palacios and Adriano.

According to The Guardian, 'Everton have been made aware of Jenas's availability and so were Internazionale when Redknapp explored the possibility of signing the striker Adriano. Jose Mourinho, the Inter manager, was offered a host of Tottenham players in part exchange and the one that he liked was Jenas. Although Redknapp failed in his attempt to take Adriano on loan - Inter favoured a permanent transfer, which would have cost Tottenham too much in wages - Jenas could yet move to San Siro.'

That possibility has now become a probability following confirmation from Mourinho that he wants the 25-year-old.

Agreed. This Kaka ordeal is a whole new precedent though and this is the height the Premiershit has reached. Even the mid-table teams are attracting major buyers so it's not going to let up anytime soon. But when you reach a certain point, the only way to go is down.

Onto the Atalanta game and I don't have a good feeling about this one. They're not in top form but they play pretty good football at home. Muntari won't play because of suspension but we have Adriano, Stankovic and Maicon back. We'll do well to pick up the three points and hopefully Juve slip up seeing as they face Lazio away with a makeshift defense.

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho is hopeful his league leaders can build on their midweek cup success and claim the spoils against Atalanta on Sunday. Last weekend's 1-1 draw with Cagliari ended Inter's run of eight successive victories in Serie A. But the defending champions responded on Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over Genoa to progress to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

The Nerazzurri will meet Roma in the last eight of the Cup at the end of January, but in the meantime Mourinho's men will turn their attention back to the league campaign.

With Inter still holding a four-point cushion over second-placed Juventus, coach Jose Mourinho shrugged off last weekend's disappointing draw.

"It's always better to win," he said. "But for me it's not a problem.

"It can happen in a game where we are supposed to win, we draw and hence, it's no drama. Every game is a challenge in Serie A.

"We had a six-point advantage and that has been cut to four. This weekend it could be one or seven."

Mourinho is optimistic his side will end the first-half of the campaign on a positive note.

Inter have won 13 of their 18 league matches to date this season with just one defeat - a 1-0 loss at AC Milan on September 28.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have the best strike force with 32 goals and the strongest defensive line with just 12 goals conceded.

"We are one game away from the half-way mark of the campaign and we are ahead by four points," said Mourinho.

"Should we finish the first half of the campaign like this, it will be very good for us."

Mourinho nevertheless expects the race for the scudetto to be a long battle, with AC Milan and Juve as their main opponents.

"I believe Milan, who are nine points behind us, are still in the title race," said Mourinho.

"Juve are playing well and I believe it will be us three to fight for the scudetto."

Mourinho will be forced to make some changes to his starting XI with Sulley Muntari serving a one-match ban and French midfielder Patrick Vieira still out of action with injury.

The good news for Mourinho is that Ivan Cordoba and Dejan Stankovic have recovered from minor knocks and will be available.

Mourinho is expected to play Adriano alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, with the Brazilian forward having impressed in the Cup in midweek.

Opponents Atalanta face the daunting task of trying to contain an Inter side that has dropped just seven points this campaign.

The Bergamaschi do have a decent record at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri D'Italia this season with only two defeats, and they will be hoping to cause the visitors some problems.

Luigi Del Neri's men go into the game on the back of successive losses against Juventus and Palermo.

Last weekend's 3-2 reverse at Palermo saw the Bergamaschi drop to 11th in the standings.

The hosts will be without injured striker Alessio Cerci, but welcome back defender Thomas Manfredini and midfielder Diego de Ascentis from suspension.

City are eyeing Mourinho and could pounce as soon as Kaka is in the bag...

Italian champions Inter will need to brace themselves, as cash rich Manchester City are about to come knocking on the door. Coach Jose Mourinho is the objective.

The former Porto and Chelsea man is on course to lead the Nerazzurri to their fourth straight title this season and he is a wanted man.

The Times claims that Sheikh Mansour has given special orders to bring in Mourinho once the club land Milan star Kaka.

According to reports, City want to assemble a team with more talent than Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverfekkin'wankscum put together and, in order to do this, they will need a top coach capable of managing a squad of superstars. No-one fits that profile more than Mourinho.

The Inter coach is on €9 million per season and there have been suggestions that City could be aiming to double his wages in order to lure him. The coach has plenty of experience in the Premiershit, having lead Chelsea to major honours during his three year reign there.

Furthermore, the 'Special One' has always hinted that he would like to return to England at some point in his career.

City are currently working hard in order to land Kaka from the Nerazzurri's rivals Milan and, as soon as the deal is signed, sealed and delivered, they will begin to negotiate with Massimo Moratti over Mourinho's avaliability.

Mark Hughes has enjoyed a less than perfect season with his struggling side and it is believed the rich Arab owners want a breath of fresh air in the dugout already.
