I was hoping Milan would win tonight - I like Milan and my Milanisti friends here. Carlo's substitutions have made me change my mind, though. How the fuck is Beckham still out there and now Pato off? I can't stand what ManShitty are doing, but I can't help but feel Milan are just as complicit in their desire to sign glory boys rather than real hard-working footballers. And I cannot for the life of me see why Ronaldinho and Beckham are on the pitch ahead of Pato now other than for marketing purposes - Milan are desperate for Beckham to score a freekick so it can get replayed and replayed and replayed (and all in red and black, this time).

Agreed. Milan really don't deserve to win this game. They started which such intensity I thought they were going to blow Fiorentina away but that soon tried up after they scored. Perhaps it was just the emotion of the occasion but even the fans went eerily quiet. Carlo's subs were just bizarre. He takes off his most hard working forward player in place of a flu-ridden Dinho, and then you have the likes of Seedorf and Beckham on the pitch for so long when Flamini is on the bench (what must he be thinking). I would even say I would rather Flamini in my team then both Seedorf and Beckham. Seedorf was fucking shite. Utterly rubbish. And with a few minutes remaining as I type this I wonder how many blunders Senderos is going to make.

And Kaka was certainly below par, but you can't blame him. What must be going through his head? I was watching intently as to if Carlo would take him off, but he didn't have the balls.

Maro, what's your thoughts on Kaka? Do you think he will go?

Honestly, Edzo, I suspect he won't go. I certainly hope he doesn't. It comes down in the end, I think, to a simple question - whether he goes reluctantly because enough people tell him it's in the best interests of the club or whether Carlo, say, or one or two sufficiently influentialk people take him aside and tell him that while they're prepared to let him leave, they don't want him to go. It will be all down to the little humble Brazilian kid.

And, incidentally, I don't blame anyone at Milan for accepting the offer - for all that it sickens me. It is a ridiculous sum and in purely practical terms he's not worth it. It's a symbolic moment and why should Milan defend the principles of a symbol if it's against their best interests? Football is a business and it is about results. From both perspectives, selling Kaka' for that kind of money makes sense.

that was a tough match, but carlo's subs were atrocious. seedorf sucked the whole game, losing the ball in our half time and time again. beckham is a slower version of gattuso or flamini. and he is always caught out of position. pirlo had a good game hustling today.

kaka' was below par, but he was our only attacking threat the whole second half. i'm disappointed we didn't go for more in the second half, but as long as we get the win.

i just hope kaka' asks himself the ultimate question; "What would Jesus do?"

I thought we were doing a good job in the first half and for a bit of the second...later we didn't seem like we could string two passes together. Seedorf has been terrible for the last few months and anyone in their right minds would drop him already. I was surprised by Pirlo's defensive efforts but it came at the cost of his passing. And who would've thought it but our defenders were all excellent today...including Favalli and Senderos.

Mouldy-knee, Jesus would have nothing to do with modern football. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. We can fool ourselves that calcio is still a magical game with all sorts of redeeming features but in reality its soul is well gone and we only follow it by burying our head in the sand and ignoring so many of its sickening features.

maro, but you always hold on to that hope that good will eventually triumph evil. selling kaka' for the price has so much more meaning than just the 109m pounds in return. it is all of our values and principles that are being put to the test. the whole idea of having principles is to declare that the end never justifies the means.

kaka' said no to real and chelsea. to more money. he was loyal to milan throughout. and now when he needs us most, we leave him for dead. we leave him with a shit club 2 pts away from relegation. with no CL for atleast 2-3 years. we stabbed in the back. we have sold our prodigal son to the highest bidders.

i don't think calcio (by calcio i mean italian football, but i don't think thats what you meant? i'm guessing you meant football in general) has lost its soul. as long as there are teams that have symbols like us with Maldini, juve with The Waterboy, roma with totti [and hopefully DDR]; you will always know that there is some good left to hope for. this situation is almost biblical to me; perhaps i am blowing it out of proportion with my pseudo-obsession to milan, but i always prided milan in respecting principles above everything else.

now, we will just become another juve. no soul, no heart. just another football club.
