Edzo, Milan would never hire someone like Mourinho, and that's not altogether a bad thing. The club is run in a much more collective, familial way and a manager who tried to call all the shots would be a misfit. Milan has its traditions; signing Beckham and Shevchenko may be to betray those traditions, but Carlo putting his foot down aggressively would also have been a betrayal of those traditions. In England they have this myth of the manager, as though he always needs to be the one calling all the shots as if even the most formidable of managers isn't also totally dependent on advice, at the very least, from scouts and coaches and the businessmen. And then they always have recourse to the cliche of 'too much interference' when things start to go wrong - as if there aren't many more instances of clubs going downhill precisely because of a lack of coherence, an excess freedom given to a manager who didn't make the grade, with whom things didn't work out. Perhaps in private it's true Carlo didn't make his resistance sufficiently clear but I doubt we'll ever know that but certainly Carlo, as all of those true to the Milan culture - was never going to air his frustrations too forcibly in public.

Yeah, the likes of Mourinho was just an extreme example, but if they were to get someone completely new to calcio in – say Benitez or Bilic or Wenger – they you would have to wonder if they'd be happy to sit back and watch while Galliani and co sign the likes of Beckham and Sheva etc. I know what your saying about Milan having its traditions, but when does traditions are being jeopardised buy its management signing players for the sake of marketing then perhaps a manager with a stronger voice is needed.

Kaka has committed his future to Milan on more than one occasion. It has become a standard interview response, especially if in a previous breath he had praised the merits of a club such as Real Madrid or spoken of the temptation to taste Premiershit football.

There was no reason to question his past Diavolo pledges, but such a statement today just doesn’t carry the same significance. While it was hard to imagine Kaka in another shirt less than six months ago, such an image may be a lot clearer by the end of the campaign.

Admittedly much will depend on the outcome of the Rossoneri’s season. But we’ve seen little from the European giants so far to believe that they can resurrect a title bid which has been hampered by an unsatisfactory transfer campaign, injuries and questionable team selections.

Just one game short of the halfway stage, Milan are third – nine points behind Inter, five shy of Juventus and just a point clear of a Napoli side which didn’t start 2008-09 with the same ambitions as Silvio Berlusconi’s superstars. And let us not forget that there has been no Champions League football for the 26-year-old this term.

Kaka has become accustomed to success since his Meazza move in 2003 and another year of under-achievement will inevitably lead him to consider his future. That was evident in a recent piece with La Gazzetta dello Sport when they asked him what he wanted from 2009.

All sorts of rumours flying around today regarding Kaka. If I would be a Milan fan I would be worried. Not worried that Kaka himself would force the move – I think he has enough integrity and self-respect not to – but that the Milan management will.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for Gourcuff to play another team besides Milan or Bordeaux NEXT YEAR. If Milan get him, we'll keep him for at least 1 year, and the same is true for Bordeaux, they just won't buy him and sell him in the same summer. If he stays with Bordeaux, it is inevitable he'll move on 1-2 years later to a bigger club in a bigger league, thats why the smart decision for him would be to to come back to Milan next year

OFFICIAL: Milan Sign Gremio's Mattioni
The Gremio defender Felipe Mattioni Rohde has officially signed with the Italian giants AC Milan...

Felipe Mattioni is a 20-year-old right-back who has been linked with a move to the Italian Serie A for the large part of the season.

He is a phenomenal young talent, who is tipped to become the next Maicon due to his pace, strength and skill, as well as his defending and attacking prowess.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have reached an agreement with Gremio for the player, which will see him remain in Milan for the next four seasons.

The player himself stands 177cm tall and weighs 72kg, and can play in the midfield as well as at the back. He has made 19 appearances for Gremio this term, and after it was announced that he has officially signed for Milan, his agent confirmed the following:

“Felipe is already in Italy and tomorrow he will undertake a medical in Milan.

“He has signed a contract for four and a half years and he can commence playing immediately,â€
