I wonder, does Cruz do more hard work in any given 45 minutes of playing time he gets than the rest of your forwards do collectively across a season?

Well to be honest, I think that some of our forwards actually do some ‘work’ upfront. Not necessarily the work needed, but they do. Not counting Ibra, who IMO does a lot of work for others, but even Crespo does seem like he has a point to prove out there. His problem is that lately he doesn’t do the work right. Surely Adriano, Balotelli, Mancini & to a certain extent Quaresma should have their wage based on the amount of km they actually run on the field. I’m pretty sure we’d start to see some different commitment from them if this would happen.

Exclusive: D'Agostino To Join Juventus

D'Agostino's agent has exclusively revealed to Goal.com that his player will most likely be heading to Turin in June, to join the Old Lady.


Udinese midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino could be on his way to join Juventus in June, according to his agent Franco Zavaglia.

Apparently, no other big team is interested in signing the former Roma player and therefore the Bianconeri have a clear path to sign him up.

"For the time being he remains at Udinese, but never say never," the player's agent exclusively told Goal.com.

"However, it's very probable that in June he will move, and the most certain destination is Juve.

"The Bianconeri are the only big team after the player. Milan already have Pirlo and they are fine that way."

The 26-year-old never managed to secure a first team spot at Roma, but was influential during his days at Messina, and again in the past two seasons at Udinese, where he has played 75 games and scored three goals.

Ranieri 'agrees to Diego move'

There are reports in the peninsula that Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri has given the green light for a swoop for Werder Bremen midfielder Diego.

The Old Lady are expected to strengthen their squad in 2009 with an eye to challenging for the Scudetto and European glory.

Brazilian ace Diego has long been a target for the Bianconeri directors and provisional approaches have been made.

However, until now there have been suggestions that Ranieri would stand in the way of the transfer.

The addition of Diego could force Ranieri to change his formation - a move he seemed unwilling to make.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranieri is now willing to make that sacrifice in order to add Diego to the ranks.

Sporting director Alessio Secco is said to be in Bremen to agree a contract and a fee, which is expected to be under £18m.

One obstacle to a transfer is that Diego is under contract until 2011 and Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are watching him.

But if Juve really see Diego as a possible heir to Pavel Nedved's throne, they will be less reluctant to make a big investment.

Juve target French stopper

The French Press are linking Juventus with PSG central defender Mamadou Sakho.

The Bianconeri aren't expected to spend heavily during the January transfer window, but they could make some small additions to the squad.

According to L'Equipe, the latest name on the Old Lady's radar is that of 19-year-old stopper Sakho, who can play in central defence or as a left-back.

Sakho has 18 months left on his current deal with PSG, where he became the club's youngest ever captain at the age of 17, but is stalling over a contract renewal in the French capital.

Juve scouts have been spotted watching the former France Under-17 captain but the Turin giants may face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle.

It seems that we are close to signing Felipe Mattioni from Gremio. Unclear if he will join now or in the summer.
