Adriano set for Inter exit - Inter boss looking to offload troubled striker
Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he would not stand in Adriano's way if the striker asked to leave the San Siro.
The Brazilian frontman has been plagued by personal problems during the last two seasons and it appears that his manager has now had enough.
After Inter signed the player in 2001/02 he enjoyed successful spells on loan at Fiorentina and most noticeably with co-owners Parma.
The Serie A champions responded by signing the 26-year-old to a four-year contract but after an explosive 2004/05, which yielded 28 goals in all competitions, Adriano has come in for criticism for his erratic lifestyle.
With just 29 goals in the last three-and-a-half seasons it now seems that Adriano is surplus to requirements at Inter.
"Club president Massimo Moratti and I want him to stay. However, if he asked me to leave I would not oppose it," explained Mourinho.
"He has ten years of football left to play."
It appears that the club, and Mourinho in particular, have grown tired of the constant speculation regarding the Brazilian's supposed party antics, with Inter once having to deny that the player turned up to training under the influence of alcohol.
The former Flamengo ace returned to his homeland in a loan deal with Sao Paolo last season in a bid to overcome his ongoing personal problems.
But after his six-month stay in Brazil, Adriano's old problems resurfaced and he found himself left out of a number of games by Mourinho earlier in the season.
The striker is currently back in Brazil recovering from a thigh injury but it seems his Portuguese manager believes his career lies elsewhere.
"I don't know if he will be able to free himself from the tag that has been placed on him," added the former Chelsea boss.
"It is certainly difficult. I believe that a change of scenery could be positive for him. When I arrived, people said that a coaching change would be good for him.
"At the beginning it was but then Adriano's continuity was not 100 per cent.
"A player, in order to become a great professional, must never need his coach to control him.
"Adriano needs a tutor, someone who is close to him, whether it's a friend, a team-mate or a family member, and this I do not like."
u noe wat shits me..y we dont get involved with these transfer fights! Seriously, whoever says he aint inter material is kidding themselves. we have fkn crespo, obinna and adriano who are doing fk all. this guy will pwn...
Sampdoria To Sacrifice Palombo To Capture Pazzini?
The Doriani are eager to bring Pazzo to Liguria and might use their skipper as a bargaining chip.
Giampaolo Pazzini’s future lies away from Fiorentina, but the Stadio Franchi outfit are reluctant to rubber stamp a loan deal.
Yesterday, there were reports that Palermo were leading the race to sign the ex-Azzurrini ace, as the Rosanero were the only club willing to splash out and snap up his full rights.
The other side in the frame to secure his services are Sampdoria, but the Blucerchiati seemed only interested in a loan deal so far.
However, the Corriere dello Sport reports today that the Ligurians might throw in midfielder Angelo Palombo to sweeten the pot.
The 27-year-old captain was linked with Milan last week, but Samp are allegedly not enthusiastic about this move and might now use him as bait to sign Pazzini.
It is reported that the hitman could join the Doriani next month for a transfer fee in the region of €10 million, with Palombo moving to Florence next summer, but the negotiations are still at an early stage and all the details have yet to be sorted out.
MILAN, Dec 24 (Reuters) - Jose Mourinho detests the endless media commitments after matches in Italy, said the Inter Milan coach.
"For one hour I have to speak with the press and I hate it, I really hate it," the former Chelsea manager said in a television interview with Britain's Sky Sports.
"I have to adapt due to the contractual situation (the clubs have with Italian media). I will never enjoy it though."
Mourinho said he found it particularly tough to cope with the media demands in the early days after taking over the Serie A champions in June.
"For me in the beginning it was a real moment of pressure, of disagreements (with reporters)," said the 45-year-old.
"I was not happy to answer. I was tired but I have to do my job."
Mourinho has made an excellent start to his Inter career, opening up a six-point lead at the top of Serie A after 17 games and setting up an exciting Champions League first knockout round clash with holders Manchester United in February and March.
"I am very happy with the way things have gone," said the brash and confident coach. "I am really, really happy with Inter.
"My team is almost like I used to call my (Premier League-winning) Chelsea team in 2004-05, a 'victory machine'. You always have a feeling you will win because the team is so strong."
Mourinho also said he had a dream to complete a hat-trick of the three big championships in Europe.
"One of my ambitions is to win the Premiershit, Serie A and La Liga," he said.
"One day I will go back to England because I love it (there) and one day I will go to Spain and win La Liga."
Mourinho, who won the Champions League with Porto in 2004, said he would wait until much later in his career for an international coaching role.
"A national team has to wait 15 years for me," he said. "I have too much energy.
"Can you imagine me being a national team coach? Playing a game every month? Three weeks without a training session?." (Writing by Tony Jimenez in London, editing by Sonia Oxley)

There are strengthening reports that the Italian will replace the Brazilian at Stamford Bridge next month…
Luiz Felipe Scolari arrived in West London this summer with a big reputation, and quickly won the hearts and minds of many Chelsea players and supporters.
However, he has recently lost many of these admirers as the Blues have been struggling over the past couple of months.
They limped through to the last 16 of the Champions League, while the record in their last five Premiershit games is just two wins, two draws and a defeat.
According to the English press, Scolari has lost some sections of the dressing room, with a number of players believing that he doesn’t possess what it takes to succeed at the club.
Roberto Mancini has been linked with Chelsea on a number of occasions over the past year or so, and he has been sighted in London several times recently along with his close friend and agent Giorgio De Giorgis.
Mancini is still under contract at Inter until 2012, having been dismissed at the end of last season, and there are still some compensation issues to sort out, which Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti has declared he hopes to sew up very soon.
Nevertheless, there is strong speculation that Scolari will be sacked at the beginning of next month, and Roman Abramovich will offer Mancini the opportunity to replace him.
It seems that the Italian striker may be brought in at the Milan giants as Adriano returns to his homeland.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Adriano's agent Gilmar Rinaldi, is trying to work out a loan deal for his client to Flamengo, a deal which would seem to leave all parties involved satisfied.
If Adriano joins the Brazilian club in January, Inter coach Jose Mourinho is expected to ask for a new attacker for the Nerazzurri.
Recent reports have suggested that the club made an offer for Genoa's Diego Milito, but a deal for the Argentinian seems unlikely, as his club is unwilling to talk about a transfer.
This roadblock could see Inter change lanes and swoop for Bologna's Marco Di Vaio instead, offering defender Nelson Rivas, midfielder Olivier Dacourt and striker Mario Balotelli as compensation for the loss of their top scorer.
Di Vaio has been something of a journeyman in his career, notching up appearances for ten different teams. Change is something the Italian is used to and his move to Bologna has shown that he is capable of flourishing within new environments.
His ability to score goals with both feet and in the air makes him a solid target for his team mates to aim for up front. Di Vaio's goals have been invaluable, scoring twelve so far in Serie A for the Rossoblu, a statistic, which will certainly pique Mourinho’s interest.
The Portuguese coach believes that the Brazilian player would be ideal to play behind the two forwards in a 4-4-2 formation.
Jose Mourinho seems to have given up hope on his 4-3-3 formation as he is ready to return to the 4-4-2 set-up used by his predecessor Roberto Mancini.
In order to optimise this tactical switch, Mourinho has requested Diego from Werder Bremen as he can take up the role of the trequartista and use his creativity and flair to create opportunities for the attackers and even score goals himself.
So far Mourinho tried to play various players in that role, but with few good results, as most of them were playing out of position, and that is why the signing of Diego would facilitate things for the team.
The Nerazzurri will not manage to sign him in January, but the Brazilian player will become their main objective for next summer.
It will not be easy for them to lure him away from Bremen, as Diego is also followed by Fiorentina and Juventus, with the latter having been linked to him since last summer.
Branca: «Drogba?
The powerful Brazilian has assured the club’s fans that he will be rejoining with his Inter team mates early in the New Year.
It’s no surprise that Inter are sitting pretty atop the Serie A table after 17 rounds of football. They are undoubtedly the best side in Italy at present, and have proven that once again this term.
The biggest talking point to come out of their season thus far however, would have to be the rumours surrounding the future of their troubled star Adriano, who has been as inconsistent as ever this year.
There have been several reports indicating that the Brazilian is set to leave the club, with a return to Brazil the most likely of results; however the player has recently stated that he wishes to remain at Inter, all but ruling out a move elsewhere.
“I have never said that I would like to leave Inter,â€
Seems like there is more problem brewing at chelsea..Drogba has had another clash with his team mates...I think if we are really intent on getting then there is no better time than now...
