tender Alex: I Must Leave Chelsea

Big Phil's winter woes continue to mount, with his Brazilian centre-half declaring that he is desperate to leave the Blues as soon as possible...

It had long been suspected that tender Alex was unsettled at Chelsea, before he recently confirmed as much by admitting he was considering a number of offers from the continent.

Now the South American stopper has sent out a plea to his suitors, insisting that he must leave Stamford Bridge - an opportunity he was denied during the summer.

"I know it’s not the best time to go in January, in the middle of the season," he told The Sun. "But I have to think about other things, I have to think about my own interests.

"I tried to leave before this season started but when (new manager) Scolari arrived they did not want to let me go. I had already spoken to the club before he came. Now that the transfer window will open again in January I will try again. I think this time it will happen."

Difficult

The timing could scarcely be worse for Luiz Felipe Scolari, who is already dealing with a complete lack of transfer funds, a potential player-revolt and kidney stones.

But tender Alex, who has played the eternal understudy to John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho during his time in England, insisted that he and the Blues boss were on good enough terms.

He said: "It’s a difficult situation for me. I have nothing against the manager but he has two great defenders in Terry and Carvalho. I have nothing against the guys who are playing — they are always very good.

"Chelsea have one of the best defences in the world. Terry and Carvalho are doing very well. They don’t make many mistakes and have been playing together for four years."

Offers

After spending the best part of three years on loan at PSV Eindhoven, tender Alex returned - or arrived, perhaps - in West London with impressive credentials, and a host of admirers across Europe.

He has played just 35 Premiershit games in the best part of a season-and-a-half for the Pensioners, and he is eager to move someplace where his talents are more urgently needed.

"There are big clubs where I could be playing while here it’s more difficult for me," the 26-year-old said.

"There are so many big clubs who need centre-backs. There were so many offers in the summer but they did not let me go.

"The only problem is I want to play, that’s the only problem I have."

AC Milan and Sevilla have been most heavily linked with the former Santos star, who is rated at around €10-12 million.

Inter Look To Acquafresca Instead Of Drogba

The big Ivorian is no longer Inter's top Drog as Acquafresca enters the fold...

Didier Drogba has dropped down a place on Inter's hit-list as he has been replaced by Cagliari youngster Robert Acquafresca.

The Nerazzurri are standing by for a decent striker just in case Adriano decides to leave in January and they are interested in calling back the Italo-Polish man.

Acquafresca is currently on loan at Cagliari, but he is owned by the Nerazzurri and they could be tempted in bringing him back sooner rather than later.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims Jose Mourinho is looking out for the striker but there could be problems in the sense that Rossoblu president Massimo Cellino doesn't want to give in to Inter's early demands.

The solution could be Mario Balotelli swapping places with the Turin-born player. Speculation over Adriano's future is rife and the knock on effect of a potential departure will be felt by several clubs, not just the Milanese giants.

All this means Chelsea's Didier Drogba is last on the list of incoming players. Reports have suggested Inter are still keen on the big Ivorian but his age and price tag could be a problem. Add to this the fact that he won't be eligible to play in the Champions League this season - having done so for the Londoners already - and thus it looks more and more as though Drogba may be sticking it out with Chelsea and not reuniting with Mourinho after all.

Cruz is missing for Siena so I left him out. In my other post I said I would like Ibra, Cruz, Balotelli, Acquafresa and a goal poacher who we need to buy. That's what I was basically getting at.
