Inter Ponder Bid For Arsenal Striker Bendtner

The Nerazzurri look set to part company with troubled marksman Adriano and could make a move for the Gunners forward next month.

According to the Inter camp, Adriano picked up an injury problem that ruled him out of the home game with Chievo Verona last weekend and he has now been granted permission to leave for Brazil.

He is expected back by January 2 to resume training at the Pinetina, but reports in the peninsula insist that his adventure in Nerazzurro is drawing to a close.

Despite a promising start under the new regime of José Mourinho, the former Parma marksman has allegedly slipped back into his old ways that prompted the Beneamata to loan him out to Sao Paolo last term.

His agent Gilmar Rinaldi will meet with Adri and then will fly in to Italy to discuss his future with Inter director Marco Branca.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, several English and French clubs have enquired after him over the past few days, but only Brazilian outfit Flamengo have tabled an official bid.

Meanwhile, the Via Durini-based team are already scouring the market to find a valid replacement: there have been whispers that they could swoop for Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, but La Gazzetta claims that Mou has also set his sights on Arsenal youngster Nicklas Bendtner, who signed a five-year contract last summer.

Inter-Target Bendtner To Stay At Arsenal

Arsenal’s teenage striker Nicklas Bendtner will not go out on loan despite having to wait for his opportunity at Arsene Wenger’s side, according to his father and representative Thomas Bendtner.

The 19-year-old Denmark international, who spent a season on loan at Birmingham City last term, had earlier suggested that he might go out to get regular first-team football.

Inter Milan are said to be looking at the powerful forward as a target in a swap with Adriano while Steve Bruce apparently is eyeing another loan stint from Bendtner.

"We know that Bruce would like to have Nick back and he also enjoyed his time at Birmingham very much, but he won’t go on loan any more," Bendtner's father said.

"It was a very good year for him but it won’t happen. I can promise you one thing, we will definitely not go on loan anywhere, that is for sure.

"I know that a club like Inter has been trying to switch him for Adriano, but Arsenal is not interested, so basically that is the situation."

Bendtner Sr added: "I’m sure that Wenger will give Nick the chance, he is only 19 years old so he will come, no doubt about it.

"We are completely on top of his situation and Adebayor is not long term, somewhere down the line he will get injured and then it will be Nick's turn, so I’m full of confidence on that."

Bendtner has scored two goals for Arsenal this season one in the Carling Cup win against Newcastle and other in 7-0 thrashing of Slavia Prague in the Champions League last month.

MI's pretty much spot on. A horrible finisher and I can't see any talent there at all. Everyone's saying Adri has played his last game for us which is a real worry, not because I don't want him to leave but rather, who on earth can we get as a replacement? Having so many strikers is worthless when only Ibra, Cruz and Balotelli are Inter quality and we can't get by on 3 for the entire season.

ps Has Crespo gone grey? He looked like he was 75 years old in the Chievo game.

Adriano Will Not Join Flamengo - Agent

L'Imperatore will not join Flamengo during the winter transfer window as the rumours surrounding his future continue to attract attention...

Adriano has been constantly linked with a permanent move back to Brazil but his agent Gilmar Rinaldi reveals that will not happen for several years yet.

The troubled striker has been the victim of his own downfall as nightclubbing antics and skipped training sessions have seen him fall in coach Jose Mourinho's pecking order.

Reports in Italy suggested Adriano was on a one-way ticket to Brazil and the rumour mill went into overdrive when he boarded a flight late on Monday night.

A scheduled return should take place on January 2 when the Brazilian is expected to meet up with the rest of the squad following the Christmas break, and Rinaldi has confirmed that is the plan as far as he's concerned.

"Adriano will not be moving to Flamengo at the moment," Rinaldi told Calciomercato.it.

"There is no possibility of that happening and I told Flamengo that.

"Adriano will move to Flamengo when he is 30 or 35 years old. He has an appointment with Inter in January and, no, I have not spoken to Massimo Moratti."

The striker has travelled to Brazil for a mid-season rest, but he should return for the new year.

Apparently Mourinho has been quoted as saying that Adriano has played the last game for Inter though he wished at least keep him till the summer.
