(2) I should have explained better. As far as Bordeaux, I meant that its not like its is a team that hardly anyone knows about, such a Cluj, for example. Bordeaux is a team that is relatively know, liked, and has CL experince. So I was thinking that the match between ROMA and Bordeaux would attract more people to the game (given that the game had first place implications as well). But there were so many empty seats, that I was taken by it.

How I wish I had been able to watch the match. And now that my laptop crashed (backed up the HD, luckily), doesn't look like I'll be watching too much Roma in the near future. Pauly, regardless of how well Cluj or known or respected should not matter. A CL match is a CL match, with the best teams in Europe. All of them have to be respected as Cluj showed us and Chelsea and as others have seen before with different teams.

Attaboy Steve-o, now we're talking, back to the global warming debate.

While these brilliant types in Steve's link might be dissenting about global warming, (plently of brilliant types claim its happening, my stance-no one knows better safe than sorry), I would tell them all to shut the fuck up and go live in China (even HK is acceptable) for like a year and breath that crap. Think about waking up on a daily basis to thick smog (particularly visible from your 22nd floor apartment), on some days you can't see 300 yards, if that's not air pollutants and CO2, I don't know what is. Global warming or not, its still shitty. To those of you that are my friends on facebook (yay facebook!) I have a photo gallery titled "Home" I think. Check it out.

Cancer rates are bad enough in the US, and I shudder to think what they might be in many of Mainland Chinese cities in the next 10-20 years (if we ever get accurate data).

While I don't abhor pollution to the point that its going to deter me from living in this part of the world, its a part of present day development, sadly. If anyone wants to see visible ground pollution (which the Chinese cover up well in major cities), go to India.

Also is anyone else here mindful that according to some estimates livestock produces more greenhouse gasses than transport. Something like 18-25% of greenhouse gasses. I think its mostly pigs and beef. That's a lot of gas.

Jam, how does one go about covering up ground pollution?

Easy, you pave over it and kick out the poor people who live in the area and shunt them to the countryside where no one will see anything anyway. Lots of stuff in India is literally sewage in canals/drains that run uncovered... So you cover them.
