Reports: Aquilani demands fourth

Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani will only commit his future to the club if they secure Champions League qualification, according to the latest reports. The Azzurri ace has been widely linked with a transfer to Juventus, who reportedly saw a big-money approach rebuffed last summer. Homegrown talent Aquilani has always stressed his commitment to the Giallorossi cause, but has refused to sign a contract extension in recent months. The 24-year-old has just recovered fitness after a month on the sidelines and seems to have become frustrated in the Eternal City after watching his teammates struggle in Serie A.

According to Il Romanista, Aquilani is only happy to stay with the capital club if they manage to book a place in next season's Champions League. Despite last weekend's victory over city rivals Lazio, Roma are still 12 points behind fourth-placed Napoli and will need to dig deep if they are to meet Aquilani's demands.

Wha daaa feeeeeck. Is this true? It comes from Il Romanista ( http://www.ilromanista.it/?section=news&id=15160 ), did he or his agent (his father?) really say this...? Until he signs a new deal there are always going to be rumors and journalists with nothing better to write, but he is not exactly helping the situation either, he either wants to stay because this is Roma and he is a romanisti, which should be enough, or else he may as well go, because this is getting annoying.

Shield, i think they didn't translate the article well, i think it says that Aquilani will be sold if we didn't qualify for the CL, it's the board who will decide to sell him, not that he wants to leave, so it's actually "Roma wants to sell Aquilani" rather than "Aquilani wants to leave Roma".

Correct me if i'am wrong.

Yes, thanks Edge, had a closer look at the Il Romanista piece and I think your right. Is this a big surprise to anyone? Under our management, without the income the CL brings we are always going to have to generate income from elsewhere and it would probably have to come from player sales. The difference this time, of course, is that Aquilani is no stranieri like Mancini or Chivu, he is a local, a homegrown talent, a romanisti, and it looks like the society is willing to risk the wrath of the fans if he is sold.

Where have you been Edge, you've been very quiet the last while. Hows tricks?

I've been busy the last couple of days Shield, i've been hanging out with De Rossi & Riise alot lately, and i gave Riise the URL of this site so he can join the gang

Seriously, i've been really busy, i had many studies and work to do, it was a heavy schedule last week and next week it will be even heavier, also my local team, Al-Ahly, won the African CL for the 6th time (A new record) and they qualified for the WCW in Japan, hope they'll play ManU in the final and get us some sweet revenge!

But i log on the site everyday to read all the non-sense on this forum, Maro talking about his sheep, you taking about your bird, and Gio talking about how we keep losing our identity while Vicenzo keep getting us these freakin weird sites, and Fonz's usless post once every 55 years.

I'm in the same boat as you Edge – with too much work and stuff on my plate at the moment to even contemplate allocating time for the new FM – but perhaps once xmas rolls around and I've more free time I shall get the new one and waste a few more valuable months of my life. Riise is joining here, you say? Well after the way he's been playing lately (plus the fact that he has red hair) he may find it hard to sign up/on for any organisation with any sort of brains. He'll probably sign for The Offside, then.

Ive read that the new FM has ALOT of problems. Especially the one you download onto your PC. Im gonna wait awhile untill they sort it out before i get my feet wet.
