Hey guys, I just wanted to mention that Luciano won one of his many ongoing appeals on the 27th of October. The Federal Court as a result, has now set a precedent that will be difficult to go back on regarding the other appeals. It appears as though the SIM Card sentence was…unlawful. Isn’t that something?

Prosecutor asks for six-year jail term for Moggi

ROME, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi should face six years in jail after being accused of using a player management agency to manipulate the Italian transfer market, a prosecutor said on Tuesday. A judge is expected to rule in January if Moggi, his son Alessandro and Italy coach Marcello Lippi's son Davide are guilty in the case along with three other men.

The 71-year-old Moggi, already banned from football for five years for his part in a 2006 match-fixing affair, is also facing a separate criminal trial in January over that scandal.

Alessandro Moggi, who set up the Gea World player management agency, has been told he could face five years in prison while Davide Lippi should go to jail for 16 months for his involvement with Gea, prosecutor Luca Palamara told a court.

The six defendants, who deny the charges, have been accused of using threats and violence to make players sign for the management agency and sign for specific clubs so that Moggi's Juve side in the early part of the decade could prosper.

Juve were demoted to Italy's second divsion in 2006 when investigators ruled that then general manager Moggi was trying to pick favourable referees for their matches.

The Turin club are back in Serie A and have nothing to do with Moggi, who said in court on Monday that he never wanted to return to football. A host of famous witnesses have been called to give evidence at the Gea trial in recent months including Italy coach Lippi, Juve's French striker David Trezeguet and England coach Fabio Capello.

Capello was accused by Palamara of withholding information to the trial and an investigation was launched into the former Juve coach.
The final throes of the Gea trial means there could soon be developments with the case against Capello.

L'associazione ribadisce "l'avvicendamento" del direttore di gara pugliese, che aveva chiesto il reintegro dopo il parere positivo dal Consiglio di Stato

ROMA - Niente da fare per Gianluca Paparesta. Il sogno di tornare ad arbitrare resterà tale. Così ha deciso il Comitato Nazionale dell'Aia, convocato dal presidente Cesare Gussoni. L'associazione arbitri ha infatti confermato "l'avvicendamento" del direttore di gara pugliese, che aveva chiesto il reintegro negli organici dopo aver ricevuto parere positivo dal Consiglio di Stato.
"Sul punto all'ordine del giorno relativo alla posizione di Gianluca Paparesta, l'Organo Tecnico CAN A e B ha confermato nella seduta odierna la propria proposta (illustrata da Pierluigi Collina) di avvicendamento dell'arbitro, provvedendo a integrarla con gli adempimenti richiesti dall'ordinanza del Tar del 19 dicembre 2008" ha motivato l'Associazione arbitri la decisone presa dal comitato nazionale convocato dal presidente Cesare Gussoni.

"Il Comitato Nazionale dell'Aia - fa sapere l'Aia -, accogliendo la richiesta dell'Organo tecnico, che ha ritenuto di condividere, ha deliberato all'unanimità di confermare l'avvicendamento dell'arbitro Gianluca Paparesta dai ruoli arbitrali della CAN A e B al termine della stagione sportiva 2007/2008". Il comitato, che si è riunito oggi a Roma, ha anche ratificato le "recenti dimissioni del Commissario della Can D Matteo Apricena e del presidente della Commissione di disciplina d'appello Maurizio Lascioli che hanno lasciato l'incarico perché candidati alle prossime elezioni dell'AIA", e anche "la nomina di Maurizio Mattei a nuovo Commissario della CAN D e ha dato delega al presidente Gussoni di definire nei prossimi giorni l'assetto di vertice della Commissione di disciplina d'appello".


L'Aia intanto si prepara all'appuntamento del 6 marzo, data dell'assemblea elettiva per il rinnovo della presidenza e dei vertici dell'associazione.
