The only problem is that the players are not yet fully accustomed to playing the 4-3-3, but that will come.

apart from mourinho,who else plays a 433 formation?I remember Mancini trying to play that formation but he always failed misrebly and changed to a 442 right away.

Tell me this Why is he trying to change to a formation that our team in not a attracted to?

in the process of doing so he may even lose Job.

GF, maybe you haven’t understood what I meant in my initial post. I am not saying that we are doing the correct thing by using a 4-3-3 formation, far from it. I said that a 4-3-3 formation in Italy can work, given it has the right players to make it work. In our case, we don’t and that is why we are failing to be our usual force. If Mourinho has at his disposal the right players to make it work, I’m fine with a 4-3-3, but up until he keeps on playing the likes of Balotelli or Obinna on the wings, or maybe an Adriano behing Ibra, its not gonna work. I said that tactics should be woven around the players, not the players around a tactic.
I asked for a reason why a 4-3-3 formation cannot work in Italy because I am sure that many are simply doing the same mistake that used to happen when Mancini was our coach. People want to buy whatever the newspapers puts forward to them without even saying, why? Newspapers has flooded us with the fact that a 4-3-3 cannot work in Italy, because they want to put in difficulty Mourinho. But I ask myself once again, why does a 4-3-3 formation not work in Italy? Is there some magical formula? Milan have been deploying a 4-3-3 formation for years, and also won a scudetto with that formation. In other seasons they were poor, but that was mainly because of their famous ‘international ego’, by which they always concentrated their efforts in European cups, rather than the domestic. This year, they are still deploying a 4-3-3 formation, with Kaka & Ronaldinho behind the main striker, and since they don’t have the Cl to play in, surprisingly are well placed in the league.
I’ve put forward Udinese as an example simply because they succeed year in year out to exceed their limitations. Clubs who have a consecutive yearly positive financial outcome, always tend to be the small clubs, yet Udinese always ends up fighting for a CL spot. That IMO is a successful club.

I just want this question answered from someone. Why does a 4-3-3 formation work in Spain, work in England, work in France, in Spain..but not in Italy?
