Lagazzetta are suggesting that Taddei might start from the bench tonight, with a four of Menez-Pizza-Brighi-Perrotta in front of DDR. I'd be a little bit surprised, but not unhappy. Rodrigo's way out of form and Simone could offer Cicinho the same kind of cover, with Menez, perhaps, giving the width on the left? Or would Perrotta play on the left, perhaps, to stop us becoming too narrow?

Well Maro, its been a busy couple of days for mesmelf in the day job, so much so that until yesterday I didn't realise or comprehend that there were mid-week matches this week (plus I have a poxy cold with the coming of the freezin weather, which is not nice). I see our game is back on Bet365 tonight, this pleases me. Is it on BWin on whatever one it is that you sometimes use as well? This is a huge game for us and we need the win to get our confidence back, not to mention to steady the ship once again before someone (Spalletti) falls out. A draw or defeat and we are fucked. Despite our recent failings and despite Spalletti's admission that something isn't quite working with the system, I can't see him changing the formation tonight and go with something different. What we need is a solid morale boosting win with the system we are used to and as little changes as possible in order to get us back believing again. That Gazzetta predicted formation is extremely negative for a side playing at home and offers little support upfront for Totti, so if Taddei is to be dropped I think we will see Tonetto play further upfield and Menez on the right. Or perhaps Okaka could be in line to start?

Well, Edzo, for what it's worth la gazzetta now have a new formation up, with Okaka in for Brighi, so, presumably, a bit closer to the 4-2-3-1 with Menez-Perrotta-Okaka across the trequartista line. They seem convinced that Rodrigo won't be starting for some reason. Time to head for the train, so the game will have started and all such questions will have been answered by the time I re-emerge on the other side,
